Tehran Video: 40th Day of Neda's Death Cemetery Protest -30 July 2009

Iranian police used batons to attack mourners holding memorials for those killed in post-election violence. Police used teargas to disperse crowds from the grave of Neda Agha Soltan at Behesht-e Zahra Cemetery, Tehran. Today was the 40th day of Nedas murder. Neda Agha Soltan, 27,was shot dead on 20 June by the so called security forces. This outrage has shocked the world. Opposition leaders Mir Hossein Mousavi and Mehdi Karroubi tried to join Neda's family at the grave but police forced them to leave. In Ahmadinejad's Iran citizens cannot even mourn the dead.

Video of Hymn St. Patrick's Breastplate, sung by Angelina (EWTN)

This hymn is taken from two CDs Songs of the Faithful and Wake Up Call. Angelina travelled to the Hill of Slane in County Meath (Ireland) to film this beautiful song. She also went over to the very famous Grafton Street in Dublin. This video was shot in one day and the director was Manuel DeTeffe of Rome. Arrangement was by Shaun Davey, mechanical and synch license were obtained through HFA. Saint Patrick's Breastplate is an old Irish Christian hymn. It is generally assumed that Saint Patrick wrote the Old Irish lyrics during his Irish ministry in the 5th century. However there is a school of thought that it may have written in the 8th century. It is part of the Liber Hymnorum (Book of Hymns)- a collection of hymns found in two manuscripts kept in Dublin.
Cecil Frances Humphreys Alexander translated the hymn from old Irish into English.

US- Stop The Abortion Mandate: Campaign Details

Prevent Washington D.C. Bureaucrats and Abortion Industry Lobbyists from Forcing YOU to Pay for Abortions

What’s at stake right now:

• The current health care reform proposals, if enacted, would result in the biggest
expansion of abortion since the Roe v. Wade Supreme Court decision imposed
abortion on America in 1973
• Washington D.C. bureaucrats and abortion industry lobbyists are trying to force
YOU to pay for abortions through your tax dollars as part of their proposed trilliondollar
healthcare takeover – even though recent polls show that 71% of Americans
oppose taxpayer-funded abortion
• This political power-grab is an effort to implement one of the cornerstones of the
"Freedom of Choice Act" (FOCA), and could lead to a massive taxpayersubsidized
abortion industry bailout – something that American families do not
support and cannot afford in these tough economic times
• Under the proposed healthcare takeover, virtually every American would be forced
into a health plan that mandates abortion coverage; if the healthcare reform law
does not clearly state that abortion is excluded, abortion automatically becomes a
minimum required benefit
• Elected officials must include language to explicitly exclude abortion from any
healthcare reform proposal or bill – keep abortion out of healthcare!
What YOU can do about it:
1. Pray
2. E-mail and write letters to your Representative and two Senators at:
http://www.StopTheAbortionMandate.com/email
3. Call the Washington office and the local office of your Representative and two

New Irish Political Party: Irish Peoples Party

The Irish Peoples Party is the country's newest political party. It is led by Richard Greene and Brian O'Connor. The party has its genesis in Coir, which was part of the No campaign in the First Lisbon Treaty referendum. It requires 300 members before it can be registered as a proper political party. Its theme song is Happy Days Are Here Again

The party is strongly opposed to the bank bailout and will campaign against the Lisbon Treaty in the second referendum. It is at one with UKIP on the EU. It is also strongly pro-life. It has already held a public meeting at the Longford Arms Hotel attended by 30 people.
The Irish People's Party will hold a second meeting in Longford in two weeks' time, and has plans to hold further meetings in Meath and Dublin. It intends to contest the next general election.

Waterford GAA Fund Raising: Deise Dog Night August 8, 2009

Video: Obama Care May Fund Abortions

White House Budget Director Peter Orszag in an interview with Chris Wallace on Fox News has stated that Obama Care May Fund Abortions.
... the New Jersey Congressman Chris Smith said, Obama is offering a plan for health care reform that is a thinly veiled attempt to increase access to abortion on demand. The plan would increase funding for abortions and allow abortion services to be considered part of “basic health care” required by all insurance plans, including private plans.
Smith pointed to information from the Guttmacher Institute, which has stated that “when taxpayer funding is not available, between 20 and 35 percent of Medicaid abortions that would have been procured simply don't occur...” CNA

Obama is the most radical pro abortion president ever elected. He deliberately misled Pope Benedict XVI at their July 10 meeting when he said that he “wants to reduce abortion". He has no regard for the Law of God. Under this measure American taxpayers will pay for abortions. In short they will fund murder. Americans would do well to learn from the lessons of history. Infanticide was a major contributory factor to the decline of the Roman Empire. Congressmen who vote for this measure fly in the face of God and are on the side of Satan.
It is time to torpedo this Satanic measure. Are there any Democrat Congressmen with the required backbone who are prepared to put God before party?

Iran:Consumers Boycott Nokia in protest at secret sale of wiretap technology-Report

Iranian Leftists Reports

On the 23 June,( 2nd of Tir), the news of Nokia’s secret sale of wiretap technology to Iran broke. Since then, many groups and associations who are active on the Internet have taken position against Nokia’s action.

Although no official group or organization inside Iran has taken position against Nokia, it seems that the consumers have spontaneously made their own decision. Bazaar insiders’ claims are a proof of this. The price of Nokia phones in the market has plunged, and there has been a wave of Nokia phones being returned after it was published that the company had sold wire-tapping technology. The widespread resale of Nokia phones and subsequent replacing with other brands is another sign of the Iranian consumers’ reaction to this matter. Bazaar sources say that, in recent years, Nokia has always been customers’ first choice, but these days it is no longer on top of the list. Although no official numbers are available, reports from the fields and retailers of mobile phones suggest a sharp drop in Tehran markets.

People who are angry that their phone conversations are being tapped, and those who worry that Nokia has sold wiretapping software, prefer to use other brands of mobile phones. To add to all of this, the Iranian Telecommunication Corporation deactivated the SMS system for 3 weeks one day prior to the election; something that caused huge dissatisfaction among its customers and shareholders. Because of this, people used other ways to send their father’s day and Imam Ali celebration messages. The Telecommunication Corporation has not yet released any numbers in that regard, but it is said that there has been a 90% drop in Father’s Day SMS messages. It is also said that Tehranis have caused Nokia market shares to drop dramatically....

Pro Life Video with clips of astronaut Neil Armstrong on the moon

A pro-life group-Catholic Vote.org-whose first two television commercials were rejected by NBC and CNN has unveiled a new ad that promotes the potential of human life. The ad feature clips of astronaut Neil Armstrong and they have the support of top astronauts Dr. Joseph Kerwin and Gene Krantz.

Astronauts Help Launch New Pro Life Ad

Dr. Kerwin calls ad ‘great tribute’ to 40th anniversary of Apollo 11

HOUSTON – Dr. Joseph Kerwin, the first American doctor in outer space, joined other former NASA greats today at a press conference in Houston to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the Apollo 11’s historic landing on the moon with a new ad by CatholicVote.org.

“For thousands of years, man has looked at the moon and the stars in awe. But forty years ago, we did the unthinkable: We landed on the moon. This new ad by CatholicVote.org captures the spirit of this historic mission by highlighting the potential of human life,” said Dr. Kerwin.

Gene Krantz, best known as the flight director at mission control manager during Apollo 13, was also on hand to premiere the ad.

Brian Burch, President of CatholicVote.org, said that putting a man on the moon was once thought impossible.

Neil Armstrong will go down in history as one of the greatest explorers. His long journey to the moon started, as each of us started, with a small kick in our mother’s womb,” said Burch. “Today, we salute the astronauts of Apollo 11 and all other brave pioneers who give meaning to the potential of every human life.”

Ireland-An Bord Snip:Text and Summary of Full Report

At present the government is borrowing €400 million weekly to finance the ship of state. This is clearly unsustainable. It is against this background that the four-member committee called an Bord Snip was established by the government charged with finding billions in savings across all Government departments and the public sector.
It was mandated to identify posts that are "not essential" in the public sector.
It was further charged with identifying cuts in spending and staff numbers, quangos that could be merged or abolished and was instructed to recommend ways of obtaining better value for taxpayers' money.

At a preliminary glance some recommendations on Social Welfare are politically unsustainable. Its recommendations in relation to rural Ireland are those of a body with an urban bias. Quite frankly committee members appear out of touch with life outside the Pale.
Notwithstanding these comments large cuts in public expenditure are inevitable if we as a nation are to live within our means.

The government can accept or reject individual recommendations. It is often said that only two things are certain in life:death and taxes. Unfortunately in Ireland massive cuts in public expenditure are also a certainty as a slash and burn approach is used to get the public finances back on track. There is now a grave danger that consumer sentiment will plummet further. Tax receipts may plunge.
Massive confrontation is inevitable between the interest groups and the government before the next budget. Has the Green Party got the stomach for the hard medicine?
If the party walks out of government a general election will ensue and it will be wiped out.

Iran:Taraneh M 28 year old trainee beautician missing and feared dead after arrest

Here is an excerpt of an article from Iranian Leftists concerning Taraneh M a 28 year old trainee beautician who was arrested more than two weeks ago by security forces on the fringe of the rally on 7th tir (28th june). It is a shocker and points to the barbarism of the Ahmadinejad regime.

Reports indicate that her family were told that she was in danger due to damage to her anus and womb.

According to reports, this young woman was arrested by plain clothes security forces at 6 pm after participating in the 7th tir ceremony at Ghoba mosque. While after interrogation all other detainees were brought to Nobonyad police station by basij and intelligence agents, the plain clothes agents kept Taraneh in a building near Hosseinie Ershad.

According to witnesses, while most of the participants in the ceremony were dressed in normal clothes and trainers, Taraneh was wearing chic clothes and high-heeled shoes, and caught the interrogators’ attention because of her hairstyle, make-up and beauty....Still, one of Taraneh’s close friends told us that, considering the information in hand, she was very worried that Taraneh was dead. She said between the time a girl answering Taraneh’s description had reportedly been in the hospital and her arrest several days had passed. Also the mention of a torn anus and womb by the unidentified caller indicates that Taraneh may have died being gang raped by the Basijis and security forces.

Ireland:Killarney jarveys banned in horses with nappies row

The Department of the Environment through the medium of the National Parks and Wildlife Service has banned jarveys-who fail to use dung-catching devices for their horses-from Killarney National Park. It said the majority of the more than a million visitors to the park annually walked the roads and that it had received numerous complaints about the mounds of horse dung, which litter the roadways. The Department argues that the dung is a health hazard and is aesthetically unpleasant. Jaunting car operators must have a required horse ″dung catcher″and licence.

The ″horses with nappies row″ shows no signs of resolution. The jarveys in Co Kerry claim that the move would put the safety of passengers at risk as the device would aggravate horses.Killarney National Park remains open to everybody else.

This dispute will undoubtedly provide plenty of fodder for comedians. However it has its serious side. Jarveys are dependent on a rather short tourist season for their income whilst the wider economy in Co. Kerry may suffer another blow in an already poor tourist season. This may prove to be a very bitter and protracted dispute.

She has fought tirelessly for lower taxes and less government. Nikki has fought wasteful spending at every turn during her time in Columbia, pushing for smaller, more efficient and more accountable government. Most recently Nikki was named “Friend of the Taxpayer” in 2009 for her fight and success in getting more legislative votes on the record and working to make state government more transparent for the taxpayers.
She supports zero based budgeting and has created such an impact that Politico has named her as a future leader of the Republican Party.

Videos from Tehran showing Basiji and revolutionary guards using teargas and beating peaceful protesters-9/7/09

This video (bottom video) shows the time when protestors arrived at the intersection of Taleghani and Valiasr ave, heading toward Valiasr Square.

The duration of this rally was about 25 minutes and before arriving at Taleghani intersection, riot forces were not interfering but closed behind the crowd to block the accumulation of people. After arriving at the intersection of Taleghani and Valiasr ave, people continued toward Valiasr Square, as shown in this video. At this time, the anti riot forces shot teargas and followed people on motorcycles forcing the crowd to Taleghani ave.

I continued toward Chahar-rah Valiasr where people were blocked from going to Enghelab Square. The revolutionary guards on motorbikes hit pedestrians with batons. On my way to the subway station I saw a lot of military cars full of anti riot guard heading west, apparently to help their forces stationed at Enghelab square.

Ireland-Hurling: Diarmuid O'Sullivan on Helmets and Pay for Play

Sadly Cork hurling star Diarmuid O'Sullivan is about to retire from the game. Unfortunately for him new Cork hurling manager Denis Walsh had plans which did not include the Cloyne man. The Rock realised that the writing was on the wall and walked. Increasingly he appears to have become disillusioned with the GAA.

From 2010 it will be mandatory for all hurlers to wear a helmet. O'Sullivan strongly disagrees with this rule and announced in a Sunday Independent interview that he plans to retire from the game completely, on the basis that players should have freedom of choice. He is strongly supported in this opinion by Irish Examiner columnist onside johnny.
With all due respect to both, players safety MUST come first. Hurlers must put aside selfishness on this matter. Avoidance of serious injury is of paramount importance . Sportsmen as bread winners have responsibilities to their families. Injuries can put them out of work and result in heavy loss of income. I strongly support the new GAA rule.

The Rock argues in favour of match fees for players. Undoubtedly many players are feeling the brunt of the recession and as amateurs invest huge amounts of time and energy into preparation for intercounty matches. Realistically they are entitled to very generous expenes. A fee is Pay for Play and would herald the end of the GAA as an amateur organisation. Onside johnny in the Irish Examiner strongly supports the concept. He argues that each player should get €10,000 per championship match and slightly less for league matches. He argues for an extra €50K per man for players reaching quarter-finals and so on.
The Rock and journalists such as onside johnny have not teased out fully the implications of such a proposal.
Many games do not generate sufficient income to pay such sums. Yesterdays Leinster Hurling Final between Kilkenny and Dublin would not have provided the wherewithal to pay the €10,000 per player fee. Presumably 10 other panel members on each side would demand the same pay out. Also Croke Park - in common with all major sports stadia on match days- eats up gate receipts. Stadia do not run themselves.

The proposal to pay almost €10,000 to each player for each league match is crazy.
Presumably onside johnny is aware of the poor attendances for Cork's league matches at Pairc UI Chaoimh. This is replicated througout the country. Diarmaid O'Sullivan will now play Rugby for Highfield. Will he now secure a match fee of €10,000 per game?

Thousands of volunteers drive the GAA. They get no financial reward. Many will walk away.
I suspect that people such as Dessie Farrell of the GPA are endeavouring to drive the GAA toward professionalism. Their real agenda is to create a professional elite. If so they are heading for disaster. As the recession bites attendances are dropping and supporters are increasingly unhappy with ticket prices. There is downward pressure on prices.
Quite frankly the GAA would not survive as a professional organization. The GPA needs to thread carefully.

Picture:Iranian Martyr Neda was a Christian as indicated by the Cross

Neda was brutally murdered by so called Iranian security forces. This picture shows her wearing a crucifix and indicates that she was a Christian. Efforts have been made in some western quarters to imply that the opposition to Ahmadinejad only differed slightly in outlook from the regime. Nothing could be further from the truth. People of all faiths in Iran oppose the government. They are not seeking more Sharia, or reformed Sharia or better Sharia.
Now a question for many media organizations: Why was the cross cropped out of this picture?

Alaska Governor Sarah Palin's Resignation Speech-Full Text

Palin Announces No Second Term

No Lame Duck Session

Hi Alaska, I appreciate speaking directly TO you, the people I serve, as your Governor.

People who know me know that besides faith and family, nothing's more important to me than our beloved Alaska. Serving her people is the greatest honor I could imagine.

I want Alaskans to grasp what can be in store for our state. We were purchased as a territory because a member of President Abe Lincoln's cabinet, William Seward, providentially saw in this great land, vast riches, beauty, strategic placement on the globe, and opportunity. He boldly looked "North to the Future". But he endured such ridicule and mocking for his vision for Alaska, remember the adversaries scoffed, calling this "Seward's Folly". Seward withstood such disdain as he chose the uncomfortable, unconventional, but RIGHT path to secure Alaska, so Alaska could help secure the United States.

People who know me know that besides faith and family, nothing's more important to me than our beloved Alaska.

Alaska's mission-to contribute to America. We're strategic IN the world as the air crossroads OF the world, as a gatekeeper of the continent. Bold visionaries knew this - Alaska would be part of America's great destiny.

Our destiny to be reached by responsibly developing our natural resources. This land, blessed with clean air, water, wildlife, minerals, AND oil and gas. It's energy! God gave us energy.

So to serve the state is a humbling responsibility, because I know in my soul that Alaska is of such import, for America’s security, in our very volatile world. And you know me by now, I promised even four years ago to show MY independence.... no more conventional "politics as usual".

And we are doing well! My administration's accomplishments speak for themselves. We work tirelessly for Alaskans.

We aggressively and responsibly develop our resources because they were created to be used to better our world... to HELP people... and we protect the environment and Alaskans (the resource owners) foremost with our policies.

Here's some of the things we've done:

We created a petroleum integrity office to oversee safe development. We held the line FOR Alaskans on Point Thomson-and finally for the first time in decades -they're drilling for oil and gas.

We have AGIA, the gasline project-a massive bi-partisan victory (the vote was 58 to 1!)-also succeeding as intended - protecting Alaskans as our clean natural gas will flow to energize us, and America, through a competitive, pro-private sector project. This is the largest private sector energy project, ever. THIS is energy independence.

And ACES-another bipartisan effort-is working as intended and industry is publicly acknowledging its success. Our new oil and gas-clear and equitable formula-is so Alaskans will no longer be taken advantage of. ACES incentivizes NEW exploration and development and JOBS that were previously not going to happen with a monopolized North Slope oil basin.

We cleaned up previously accepted unethical actions; we ushered in bi-partisan Ethics Reform.

We also slowed the rate of government growth, we worked with the Legislature to save billions of dollars for the future, and I made no lobbyist friends with my hundreds of millions of dollars in budget vetoes... but living beyond our means today is irresponsible for tomorrow.

We took government out of the dairy business and put it back into private-sector hands-where it should be.

We provided unprecedented support for education initiatives, and with the right leadership, finally filled long-vacant public safety positions. We built a sub-Cabinet on Climate Change and took heat from Outside special interests for our biologically-sound wildlife management for abundance.

We broke ground on the new prison.

And we made common sense conservative choices to eliminate personal luxuries like the jet, the chef, the junkets... the entourage.

And the Lt. Governor and I said "no" to our pay raises.
So much success in this first term-and with this success I am proud to take credit... for hiring the right people! Our goal was to achieve a gasline project, more fair oil and gas valuation, and ethics reform in four years. We did it in two. It's because of the people… good public servants surrounding the Governor's office, with servants' hearts and astounding work ethic... THEY are Alaska's success!

We are doing well! I wish you'd hear MORE from the media of your state's progress and how we tackle Outside interests - daily - SPECIAL interests that would stymie our state. Even those debt-ridden stimulus dollars that would force the heavy hand of federal government into our communities with an -all-knowing attitude- I have taken the slings and arrows with that unpopular move to veto because I know being right is better than being popular. Some of those dollars would harm Alaska and harm America-I resisted those dollars because of the obscene national debt we're forcing our children to pay, because of today's Big Government spending; it's immoral and doesn't even make economic sense!

Another accomplishment- our Law Department protected states' rights- TWO huge U.S. Supreme Court reversals came down against that liberal Ninth Circuit, deciding in OUR state's favor over the last two weeks. We're protectors of our Constitution - federalists protect states' rights as mandated in 10th amendment.

But you don't hear much of the good stuff in the press anymore, do you?

Some say things changed for me on August 29th last year- the day John McCain tapped me to be his running-mate - I say others changed.

Let me speak to that for a minute.

Political operatives descended on Alaska last August, digging for dirt. The ethics law I championed became their weapon of choice. Over the past nine months I've been accused of all sorts of frivolous ethics violations- such as holding a fish in a photograph, wearing a jacket with a logo on it, and answering reporters’ questions.

Every one - all 15 of the ethics complaints have been dismissed. We've won! But it hasn't been cheap - the State has wasted THOUSANDS of hours of YOUR time and shelled out some two million of YOUR dollars to respond to -opposition research.. that's money NOT going to fund teachers or troopers - or safer roads. And this political absurdity, the -politics of personal destruction- … Todd and I are looking at more than half a million dollars in legal bills in order to set the record straight. And what about the people who offer up these silly accusations? It doesn't cost them a dime so they're not going to stop draining public resources - spending other peoples' money in their game.

It's pretty insane - my staff and I spend most of our day dealing with THIS instead of progressing our state now. I know I promised no more -politics as usual,- but THIS isn't what anyone had in mind for ALASKA.

If I have learned one thing: LIFE is about choices!

And one chooses how to react to circumstances. You can choose to engage in things that tear down, or build up. I choose to work very hard on a path for fruitfulness and productivity. I choose NOT to tear down and waste precious time; but to build UP this state and our country, and her industrious, generous, patriotic, free people!

Life is too short to compromise time and resources... it may be tempting and more comfortable to just keep your head down, plod along, and appease those who demand: "Sit down and shut up", but that's the worthless, easy path; that's a quitter's way out. And a problem in our country today is apathy. It would be apathetic to just hunker down and -go with the flow-.

Nah, only dead fish "go with the flow".

No. Productive, fulfilled people determine where to put their efforts, choosing to wisely utilize precious time... to BUILD UP.

And there is such a need to BUILD up and FIGHT for our state and our country. I choose to FIGHT for it! And I'll work hard for others who still believe in free enterprise and smaller government; strong national security for our country and support for our troops; energy independence; and for those who will protect freedom and equality and LIFE... I'll work for and campaign for those PROUD to be American, and those who are INSPIRED by our ideals and won't deride them.

I WILL support others who seek to serve, in or out of office, for the RIGHT reasons, and I don't care what party they're in or no party at all. Inside Alaska - or Outside Alaska.

But I won't do it from the Governor's desk.

I've never believed that I, nor anyone else, needs a title to do this - to make a difference... to HELP people. So I choose, for my State and my family, more "freedom" to progress, all the way around... so that Alaska may progress... I will not seek re-election as Governor.

And so as I thought about this announcement that I wouldn't run for re-election and what it means for Alaska, I thought about how much fun some governors have as lame ducks… travel around the state, to the Lower 48 (maybe), overseas on international trade - as so many politicians do. And then I thought - that's what's wrong - many just accept that lame duck status, hit the road, draw the paycheck, and -milk it-. I'm not putting Alaska through that - I promised efficiencies and effectiveness! ? That's not how I am wired. I am not wired to operate under the same old -politics as usual.- I promised that four years ago - and I meant it.

It's not what is best for Alaska.

I am determined to take the right path for Alaska even though it is unconventional and not so comfortable.

With this announcement that I am not seeking re-election… I’ve determined it’s best to transfer the authority of governor to Lieutenant Governor Parnell; and I am willing to do so, so that this administration – with its positive agenda, its accomplishments, and its successful road to an incredible future – can continue without interruption and with great administrative and legislative success.

My choice is to take a stand and effect change - not hit our heads against the wall and watch valuable state time and money, millions of your dollars, go down the drain in this new environment. Rather, we know we can effect positive change outside government at this moment in time, on another scale, and actually make a difference for our priorities - and so we will, for Alaskans and for Americans.

Let me go back to a comfortable analogy for me - sports… basketball. I use it because you're naïve if you don’t see the national full-court press picking away right now: A good point guard drives through a full court press, protecting the ball, keeping her eye on the basket… and she knows exactly when to pass the ball so that the team can WIN. And I'm doing that - keeping our eye on the ball that represents sound priorities - smaller government, energy independence, national security, freedom! And I know when it's time to pass the ball - for victory.

I have given my reasons candidly and truthfully… and my last day won’t be for another few weeks so the transition will be very smooth. In fact, we will look to swear Sean in - in Fairbanks at the conclusion of our Governor's picnics.

I do not want to disappoint anyone with my decision; all I can ask is that you TRUST me with this decision - but it’s no more -politics as usual-.

Some Alaskans don’t mind wasting public dollars and state time. I do. I cannot stand here as your Governor and allow millions upon millions of our dollars go to waste just so I can hold the title of Governor. And my children won’t allow it either. ?
Some will question the timing. ? Let's just say, this decision has been in the works for awhile…

In fact, this decision comes after much consideration, and finally polling the most important people in my life - my children (where the count was unanimous... well, in response to asking: "Want me to make a positive difference and fight for ALL our children's future from OUTSIDE the Governor's office?" It was four "yes's" and one "hell yeah!" The "hell yeah" sealed it - and someday I'll talk about the details of that... I think much of it had to do with the kids seeing their baby brother Trig mocked by some pretty mean-spirited adults recently.) Um, by the way, sure wish folks could ever, ever understand that we ALL could learn so much from someone like Trig - I know he needs me, but I need him even more... what a child can offer to set priorities RIGHT - that time is precious... the world needs more "Trigs", not fewer.

My decision was also fortified during this most recent trip to Kosovo and Landstuhl, to visit our wounded soldiers overseas, those who sacrifice themselves in war for OUR freedom and security… we can ALL learn from our selfless Troops… they're bold, they don't give up, they take a stand and know that LIFE is short so they choose to NOT waste time. They choose to be productive and to serve something greater than SELF... and to build up their families, their states, our country. These Troops and their important missions - those are truly the worthy causes in this world and should be the public priority with time and resources and NOT this local / superficial wasteful political bloodsport.

May we ALL learn from them!

*((Gotta put First Things First))*

First things first: as Governor, I love my job and I love Alaska. It hurts to make this choice but I am doing what's best for Alaska. I've explained why… though I think of the saying on my parents' refrigerator that says -Don't explain: your friends don't need it and your enemies won't believe you anyway.-

But I have given my reasons… no more -politics as usual- and I am taking my fight for what's right- for Alaska - in a new direction.

Now, despite this, I don't want any Alaskan dissuaded from entering politics after seeing this REAL -climate change- that began in August… no, we NEED hardworking, average Americans fighting for what's right! And I will support you because we need YOU and YOU can effect change, and I can too on the outside.

We need those who will respect our Constitution where government’s supposed to serve from the BOTTOM UP, not move toward this TOP DOWN big government take-over… but rather, will be protectors of individual rights - who also have enough common sense to acknowledge when conditions have drastically changed and are willing to call an audible and pass the ball when it's time so the team can win! And that is what I'm doing!

Remember Alaska… America is now, more than ever, looking North to the Future. It'll be good. So God bless you, and from me and my family - to ALL Alaska - you have my heart.

And we will be in the capable hands of our Lieutenant Governor, Sean Parnell. And Lieutenant General Craig Campbell will assume the role of Lieutenant Governor. And it is my promise to you that I will always be standing by, ready to assist. We have a good, positive agenda for Alaska.

In the words of General MacArthur said,-We are not retreating. We are advancing in another direction.-

Iran: Election Invalid according to Senior Isfahan cleric Ayatollah Seyed Jalaleddin Taheri

Senior cleric Ayatollah Seyed Jalaleddin Taheri, one of Ayatollah Khomeini's close friends and former Friday prayer leader in Iran’s Isfahan province, declared the recent presidential election as invalid and described Ahmadinejad's reappointment to presidency for another four years as "illegitimate" and a "usurpation.................

In the conclusion to his statement, Taheri writes, "I thought that in light of the interests of the nation, revolution and country, perhaps the regime's officials would address irregularities that occurred prior to and during the election in a fair and just manner, but it is obvious that officials are not willing to address the fraud and rather intend to suppress the protesters using security and terror tactics. I, as a minor clergyman, in unison with the majority of people who lost their vote, consider this election to be manipulated and null, and consider the reappointment of the head of the government for a second term, to be illegitimate and a usurpation."

Homburg Procul Harum in concert Naples (2007)

Homburg was Procol Harum's follow-up single to 1967 hit A Whiter Shade of Pale. It was released in 1967. It was witten by pianist Gary Brooker and lyricist Keith Reid. Amazingly the concert version was performed by the band 40 years later and Gary Brooker can still hit the high notes.

Tehran Iran Video: 30 June 09 Riot police destroying cars and motor cycles

Why the Ahmadinejad Regime is doomed

These thugs -in this video- are so-called police engaging in wanton acts of vandalism. The Ahmadinejad regime is out of control and at war with its people. Peaceful protesters have been gunned down. Young women have been murdered. Universities have been ransacked and students arrested. Neighbourhoods have been targeted by the so -called forces of law and order on the basis that protesters may be in residence. Many journalists and bloggers are missing. The prisons are torture chambers. 100,000 men from the paramilitary Basij control Tehran and eight other major cities. Ahmadinejad is also reliant on Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. There is some evidence that not all members of the Basij and Islamic Revolutionary Guard are loyal to the regime.

60% of Iranians are under 35. The majority of this age group seeks democratic change and will eventually bring down the regime. Many in this age group are computer literate and well educated. Women who are second class citizens in Iran are no longer prepared to tolerate repression. In 2006 Iran's Supreme Leader declared that women are not allowed to watch men's soccer games in person. The Campaign for Equality, an Iranian women’s rights initiative was launched in 2006. Members have been harassed and in some cases imprisoned. Women have been empowered by education and have played a major role in the protests. They will not tolerate inequality. The power structure of the regime has begun to rot from within and without. It lacks democratic legitimacy having stolen the election. It is living on borrowed time.

Torture of prisoners in Iran outlined

Here is an excerpt from Revolutionary Road

The kinds of tortures used on prisoners:

Ones who have been arrested by plain clothes and basij, were severely beaten, and were transferred to detention facilities and basij stations, and at the end before being taken to Evin prison, transferred to investigation department of Shapoor ( Vahdat Eslami). They were tortured severely in each and every one of these facilities, and have heard complains from the police force about them being limited on beating the prisoners, due to the severity of the prior tortures they had gone through, but still they were not hesitant about it.

The interesting point is they were actually enjoying putting people through this, and all of the beating was accompanied by their laughter and mockery
  • Word has it, they broke the left side of someones scull, and to make it even they broke the right side as well.
  • During a group beating of prisoners, they were told by someone, that captives should not be tortured, then he has pushed everyone aside, and started the beating himself, after he was tired, he has ordered them to resume their beatings.
  • One states after requesting for his hand cuffs to be loosened a little bit, they have actually made it tighter to the point that it had pinched the skin, and he was taken from one place to another by his cuffs.
  • Some prisoners state, they were forced to kneel in front of a wall for 4 days straight, and were only given two small portions to eat, and during the 4 days, they were beaten in the head if they had happened to fall sleep.
  • One states the first shock he had gotten from taser, has thrown him almost 2 meters away, but now after being tortured, he has no reaction to the taser gun.
  • The ones who were a little more buffed were more in target, with the excuse of demolishing public properties and hitting the security forces.
  • Group beating of prisoners, hitting with baton, cable, bats, taser as well as kicking the prisoners in the face even the injured, has been seen a lot.
  • A witness states, some injuries were due to hitting and kicking, and also hitting with bloody cables, chains and etc...
  • wrist fractures were seen in most cases.

This is an affront to human decency and must stop.
