Videos: Procul Harum- Homburg 1967 and live in concert Naples 2007

Original Version 1967

Homburg Procul Harum in concert Naples (2007)

Homburg was Procol Harum's follow-up single to 1967 hit A Whiter Shade of Pale. It was released in 1967. It was witten by pianist Gary Brooker and lyricist Keith Reid. Amazingly the concert version was performed by the band 40 years later and Gary Brooker can still hit the high notes.

Welsh Meditation: Mil Harddach Wyt (My Beautiful Baby) - And Did Those Feet

This song comes from their album:"Forgetting the Shadows of History".

The video for this song -' My beautiful Baby' is like arriving on holiday after travelling through the night on dark unlit country roads surrounded by deep forests. The second part is set in bright sunshine with streams leading to the sandy beaches of a bay. The whole film is set in Wales. The video offers gentle relaxation.

About "And Did Those Feet"
"The name And Did Those Feet is derived from ‘And Did Those Feet in Ancient Times’ better known as the words to the poem Jerusalem by William Blake.
The nucleus of the group comprises founder and composer Richard Ellin. The principle vocalist is Ina Williams who possesses one of the finest voices to be found in Wales. Cecilia Jones completes the trio providing solo performances and vocal accompaniment to complement Ina’s voice perfectly, the two beautifully layered and at times melding into one.
The music of And Did Those Feet moves between spiritual, pastoral, contemporary, light classical, Welsh language and there’s poetry too...."

Cornwalls Sue Aston:The Home Coming on violin-Celtic Music par excellence

The following quotation is taken from Sue's website:
"Recording my albums takes me on a journey that goes far beyond my passion for the Celtic Landscape that inspires it. As a composer I absorb a great deal of inspiration from the natural landscape, particularly the isolated areas of Cornwall which are rich in legend and folklore.Welcome to my world." Many of the people of Cornwall in SW England are of Celtic extraction just like the Irish.

'Holy Spirit' Music Video by Nate Sallie (with lyrics)

(Graphics reflect the last book of the bible)
(Lyrics)
More than just a moment in history.
Yours is a friendship that lasts forever.
Every day I hear you speak.
Mysteries revealed each day.
Hidden treasures found in faith.
You are the fire sent down from heaven.
Until I see you face to face.
I will run to you, and your words of truth.
HOLY SPIRIT COME! COME AND FILL ME WITH YOUR LOVE.
MOVE INSIDE OF ME.
FILL THE AIR I BREATHE.
HOLY SPIRIT COME! FALL ON ME! Conversations run so deep.
Spoken promises from the King.
I never want to leave your presence.
You are all that I need.
Saturate every move I make so I'm filled with what I crave.
Open my eyes to the pathways ahead every step that I take.
I will run to you, and your words of truth.
HOLY SPIRIT COME COME AND FILL ME WITH YOUR LOVE! MOVE INSIDE OF ME.
FILL THE AIR I BREATHE.
HOLY SPIRIT COME! Walk With Me.
Tell Me Secrets Of His Majesty! Pour Out On Me Visions And Dreams.
I Want More Than Just A Little Bit Of Everything.
I Want All You're Saying So I'm Praying.
HOLY SPIRIT COME COME AND FILL ME WITH YOUR LOVE.
MOVE INSIDE OF ME.
FILL THE AIR I BREATHE.
HOLY SPIRIT COME! FALL ON ME!

Champagne Music of Abba is timeless much to the chagrin of critics

It has always been fashionable in some circles to rubbish the music of Abba. Much of this criticism stems from an insecurity or snobbery on the part of some scribes and critics. Due to the success of the movie version of Mama Mia! , a musical written around the Swedish group ABBA's greatest hits, the 1992 album "ABBA Gold Greatest Hits" has risen to the top of the British album charts after sixteen years.
This twin success has brought the anti Abba brigade out in force. Neil McCormick in the Telegraph writes a particularly acerbic article. Somehow I think that he may be writing tongue in cheek. An interesting article on the group- appeared in the Telegraph on 10/7/2008. Titled "Abba - the music: why everyone loves Abba",it was written by Ivan Hewett and delves successfully into the reasons for the group's stunning success-even if it is unfair to the band members themselves. It is a must read for all Abba fans.
