Video of Hymn St. Patrick's Breastplate, sung by Angelina (EWTN)

This hymn is taken from two CDs Songs of the Faithful and Wake Up Call. Angelina travelled to the Hill of Slane in County Meath (Ireland) to film this beautiful song. She also went over to the very famous Grafton Street in Dublin. This video was shot in one day and the director was Manuel DeTeffe of Rome. Arrangement was by Shaun Davey, mechanical and synch license were obtained through HFA. Saint Patrick's Breastplate is an old Irish Christian hymn. It is generally assumed that Saint Patrick wrote the Old Irish lyrics during his Irish ministry in the 5th century. However there is a school of thought that it may have written in the 8th century. It is part of the Liber Hymnorum (Book of Hymns)- a collection of hymns found in two manuscripts kept in Dublin.
Cecil Frances Humphreys Alexander translated the hymn from old Irish into English.

Bring Flowers of the Rarest (Queen of the May) Catholic Hymn sung by Maureen Hegarty

This is the month of May, the month of Our Lady. 'Bring Flowers of the Rarest' is often sung in churches during May Devotions. "Bring Flowers Of The Fairest" was composed by Mary E. Walsh, who was a pupil of the Sisters of Notre Dame. Under the title "Crowning Hymn" it was published in Wreath of Mary, 1871 and later in St. Basil's Hymnal, 1889.

Obama moving US towards despotism say bishops as huge clash with Catholic Church looms

The following is an article taken from Alive.
A major confrontation between US Catholics and Barack Obama is looming over freedom of conscience and religion.

In a stark warning released on video on the internet, America’s bishops say that the US is in danger of moving towards “despotism” under Obama.

The bishops were responding to the news that the Obama administration intends to abolish rules which guarantee that health workers cannot be forced to do what they believe is evil.

“As Catholic bishops and American citizens, we are deeply concerned that such an action would be the first step in moving our country from democracy to despotism,” says spokesman Cardinal Francis George.

“Respect for personal conscience and freedom of religion ensures our basic freedom from government oppression,” says the Chicago Cardinal. “No government should come between an individual person and God.”

Noting that this was common ground for all Americans, he continues: “We need legal protection for freedom of conscience and of religion—including freedom for religious health care institutions to be true to themselves.”

“Why shouldn’t our government and our legal system permit conscientious objection to a morally bad action, the killing of babies in their mother's womb?” he asked.

“People understand what really happens in an abortion—a living member of the human family is killed, ... and no one should be forced by the government to act as though he or she were blind to this reality.”

He urged Catholics to tell the Department of Health “that you stand for the protection of conscience, especially now for those who provide the health care services so necessary for a good society.”

Earlier, speaking in Oxford, Cardinal Pell of Sydney warned of “a major escalation in the culture wars” if Obama goes ahead and signs into law a proposed ‘Freedom of Choice Act’.

This would sweep away all state restrictions on abortion. It would also “remove any protections in legislation for doctors, nurses, and hospitals with moral objections to abortion.

“I am still hoping,” said the Cardinal “that the President will not trigger such a massive confrontation with pro-life Christians

Cuba:Fidel Castro hints that he will die soon-Could he die a Catholic?

Fidel Castro doesn't expect to be alive to witness the end of Obama's first term in office, says an article, written by the former Cuban president on an official government website."I have had the rare privilege of observing events over a long period of time. I get information and meditate carefully over these events. I don't expect to enjoy this privilege in four years, when Obama's first term in office concludes," Castro wrote.

The seven-paragraph essay discusses the inauguration and coming term of U.S. President Barack Obama, a topic he also addressed in an article published Wednesday. In Thursday's essay, Castro says that Obama "has transformed himself under the inspiration of Abraham Lincoln and Martin Luther King Jr. to the point of becoming a living symbol of the American dream." "But despite noble intentions, there are still many questions to answer," Castro added, specifically pointing out the question of whether a capitalist system can protect the environment. (Sofia News Agency)

Presumably as a Communist Castro does not believe in a God or an after life. However in recent times there have been indications that this might be about to change.Restrictions on the Catholic religion have been eased. After Pope John Paul II's death in April 2005, Castro attended a Mass in his honour in Havana's cathedral and signed the Papal condolence book at the Vatican Embassy. As death approaches there appears to be an evolution in his thinking.
Perhaps Castro will abjure atheism and die a Catholic.

According to One Nation Under God pro abortion groups including Planned Parenthood, Emily's List, National Organization for Women (NOW) and the National Abortion and Reproductive Rights Action League (NARAL) have made contributions of $9,269,811.00 to the current Catholic members of the 111th Congress .

Since taking office she has voted to continue federal funding for Planned Parenthood, expand federal funding for life destroying embryonic stem cell research supported funding to overseas groups involved in performing abortions.....

Obama Closing Catholic Hospitals-The Bulletin

The following are some excerpts from an article in the Bulletin Newspaper. This article is a must read for all Catholics before they vote. Obama will force the closure of Catholic hospitals. This is not a matter of conjecture. It will happen if Obama is elected President.

"On Oct. 7, 2007, Sen. Barack Obama spoke to the Planned Parenthood Action Fund and promised, "The first thing I'd do as president is sign the Freedom of Choice Act..".................FOCA would deprive the American people in all 50 states of the freedom they now have to enact modest restraints and regulations on the abortion industry. FOCA would coerce all Americans into subsidizing and promoting abortion with their tax dollars. And FOCA would counteract any and all sincere efforts by government to reduce abortions in our country.... will wipe out any state's "conscience" clause, which is the law that allows hospitals, doctors and nurses to abstain from taking part in abortion for reasons of conscience.

If abortion is a "fundamental right", according to FOCA, then every hospital must provide it...."President Obama and his congressional supermajority would force every Christian hospital, doctor or nurse to abandon their faith or go out of business."

Please read the full article.

According to Public Discourse

"Barack Obama is the most extreme pro-abortion candidate ever to seek the office of President of the United States. He is the most extreme pro-abortion member of the United States Senate. Indeed, he is the most extreme pro-abortion legislator ever to serve in either house of the United States Congress. Yet there are Catholics and Evangelicals-even self-identified pro-life Catholics and Evangelicals - who aggressively promote Obama's candidacy and even declare him the preferred candidate from the pro-life point of view. Joe Biden and Nancy Pelosi support for Abortion at odds with Catholic teaching.

Any Catholic politician who votes for abortion is at odds with Catholic teaching and the law of God. Any Catholic politician who attempts to uphold an already existing law, which promotes abortion, is at odds with Catholic teaching and the law of God.
In short politicians such as Joe Biden and Nancy Pelosi are guilty of grave mortal sin. They may not receive Holy Communion.
The same strictures apply to Catholic voters whether religious or lay. Catholic voters should not vote for Barack Obama who supports partial birth abortion. To do so is a grave sin.

The Democratic Party platform supports abortion. It is at odds with Catholic teaching and the law of God. No bluff or bluster from Obama, Biden or Pelosi can obscure this fact. The so -called pro- choice position represents the culture of death.

The following outlines clearly the Catholic Church position on the Abortion issue:

"John Paul II, continuing the constant teaching of the Church, has reiterated many times that those who are directly involved in lawmaking bodies have a «grave and clear obligation to oppose» any law that attacks human life. For them, as for every Catholic, it is impossible to promote such laws or to vote for them…..
When political activity comes up against moral principles that do not admit of exception, compromise or derogation, the Catholic commitment becomes more evident and laden with responsibility. In the face of fundamental and inalienable ethical demands, Christians must recognize that what is at stake is the essence of the moral law, which concerns the integral good of the human person. This is the case with laws concerning abortion and euthanasia (not to be confused with the decision to forgo extraordinary treatments, which is morally legitimate). Such laws must defend the basic right to life from conception to natural death."
