Lakeland-based Publix seems to be a prankster favorite. So, too, are Wal-Mart, Kmart, McDonald's, Best Buy and Sweetbay supermarkets.

In the 1980s and 1990s the Newfoundland government closed down the cod fishing grounds because of over fishing. Cod stocks off the Grand Banks of Newfoundland have still not recovered.

Florida doctor loses license after botched abortion and can no longer practice medicine in the state

The Board of Medicine has revoked the license of a Florida doctor accused of medical malpractice in a botched abortion case in which a live baby was delivered, but ended up dead in a cardboard box. Police found the infant's decomposing remains a week later.

The board on Friday found Dr. Pierre Jean-Jacque Renelique in violation of Florida statutes by committing medical malpractice, delegating responsibility to unlicensed personnel, and failing to keep an accurate medical record. Renelique and his attorney declined to comment after the hearing..............The Department of Health recommended that his license be suspended. But the board decided to revoke it instead which means he will not be able to practice medicine in Florida.
No criminal charges have been filed in the case, but the state attorney's office is investigating (Buffalo News)

Abortion is an ugly and sordid business.Hopefully Dr. Pierre Jean-Jacque Renelique may learn to appreciate the sanctity of human life and abide by the Law of God.The decision of the Board of Medicine to revoke the license is welcome.

Miami Abortion Horror Story-Fl Doctor Investigated

The following is an excerpt from a report in the Buffalo News. It is an absolute shocker.

Eighteen and pregnant, Sycloria Williams went to an abortion clinic outside Miami and paid $1,200 for Dr. Pierre Jean-Jacque Renelique to terminate her 23-week pregnancy.
Three days later, she sat in a reclining chair, medicated to dilate her cervix and otherwise get her ready for the procedure.
Only Renelique didn't arrive in time. According to Williams and the Florida Department of Health, she went into labor and delivered a live baby girl.
What Williams and the Health Department say happened next has shocked people on both sides of the abortion debate: One of the clinic's owners, who has no medical license, cut the infant's umbilical cord. Williams says the woman placed the baby in a plastic biohazard bag and threw it out.
Police recovered the decomposing remains in a cardboard box a week later after getting anonymous tips........

The state Board of Medicine is to hear Renelique's case in Tampa on Friday and determine whether to strip his license. The state attorney's homicide division is investigating....

In this interview Joe Biden comes across as condescending and bad mannered. The interviewer Barbara West asked topical questions aimed at eliciting information. She questioned Joe Biden about Acorn attempts to register phoney voters. She also referred to Obama's links to Acorn.

The next question concerned redistribution of wealth. After all Obama declared to Joe the Plumber that this was part of his political philosophy and policy platform. Biden did not like the interviewers reference to Marxism: “From each according to his ability, to each according to his need (or needs)” Now Joe Biden cant have it both ways . In his acceptance speech he played the class warfare card. Obama's redistribution of wealth policy is grounded in Socialism/Marxism. Why not call it what it really is? Obama plans an explosion in expenditure devoted to Welfare. This is redistribution of wealth. Much of this money will come from higher taxes on the middle class and on businesses.

How is Obama going to finance tax cuts? His promises amount to 1,000 billion dollars. The bailout costs another 700 billion dollars. He is opposed to a public expenditure freeze. Obama and Biden must come clean on funding for tax cuts?

When asked about foreign policy he used the snide put down “I don’t know who is writing your questions for you.”
In the course of this campaign Obama and Biden have received very favourable treatment from most media organs. Now the Obama campaign is denying this station interviews because Joe Biden was asked substantive questions. This says it all.
Just imagine if Sarah Palin had addressed the interviewer in a similar manner to Joe Biden. There would be an outcry in the liberal media.

Obama Smears Against Palin a tissue of lies-The Words Kill Him NOT uttered at Palin rallies

In Tuesday nights presidential debate from New York, Barack Obama smeared Sarah Palin. He said when addressing John McCain : “at some of the rallies that your running mate was holding there were shouts of …. "kill him. He also said "your running mate didn't mention, didn't stop, didn't say 'hold on a second, that's kind of out of line' ".

There has been a Secret Service investigation into these allegations. Not a scintilla of evidence has been uncovered to support them. The Secret Service has found that no video or audio evidence exists to support Obama’s allegations. Furthermore no witnesses exist to corroborate the "kill him" allegations made by two liberal journalists. Obama was appraised of this PRIOR to taking part in the debate.

Kill Him Number One - Clearwater, Florida. The Clearwater "kill him" allegation was made by Dana Milbank.The Secret Service listened to tapes of this event and found that someone shouted "Tell Him" after Palin mentioned Bill Ayers. Kill Him Number Two - Scranton, PA. The Scranton "kill him" allegation was made by a reporter from the Scranton Times-Tribune.The Secret Service investigated the allegations and found that there was no video or audio evidence to support the journalist’s claims. No witnesses corroborated the allegations. The Secret Service declared the charge 'unfounded'.

Obama LIED in the debate. Is he man enough to apologise for this outrageous smear? Don’t hold your breath.

Castro’s support for Obama no surprise-both are ideological blood brothers (Cuban exiles unimpressed)

It is hardly surprising that Fidel Castro has thrown his weight behind Barack Obama.
Is not Castro a relict of the Communist era? – A Socialist dinosaur who has led Cuba to economic destruction.

A man who has turned the country into a police state all in the name of a sham egalitarianism. Cuba is an economic basket case.
Naturally Castro recognises a true left wing politician when he sees one. Obama is on the left wing of the Democratic Party and is the darling of most leftists. He is a true Socialist. The US Communist Party and the Trotskyite Democratic Socialists of America have thrown their weight behind Obama.

There is a message here for voters. Obama’s economic policy has similarities with that of the Cuban Communist Party. Obama believes that if there is a large redistribution of wealth a better society will evolve. This egalitarian approach is the road to ruin. It has been tried in Cuba and Eastern Europe by Communist regimes. It has been an unmitigated failure. Greater state involvement results in a bloated bureaucracy at greater cost to the taxpayers. It generates inefficiency and inertia. Obama just does not understand business and wealth creation. Any politician worthy of the name would not propose a doubling of the capital gains tax.

"He would double the capital gains tax to 28%. The net affect of this is that you will get far less when you sell your home or your 401K or your stock plan. He would double the dividends tax. That means that those who clip coupons from corporate stocks get less money.

He intends to increase the limit on Social Security taxes, which means that instead of paying 12 1/2 percent of the first $100,000, you pay it on everything that you're making.The real tax rate is then 60 percent." See Dick Morris

Obama’s social engineering will create a society where incentives to work are damaged and excessive redistribution saps initiative.
Obama is an ideological blood brother of Castro. No wonder Castro promotes his cause. Remember the Socialist approach is equality in poverty.
No doubt Cuban exiles in Florida will not be too impressed.

Democrats Dilemma as Obama moves closer to nomination

The outcomes of the North Carolina and Indiana primaries have further weakened Clinton's prospects of securing the Democratic party nomination.

The Party is now on the horns of a dilemma. Obama is winning in terms of the popular vote and delegate count. As North Carolina is a larger state than Indiana, Obama has moved further ahead in the delegate count and popular vote.

However there is increasing antipathy towards him amongst a large section of the white Democratic electorate throughout the US, which has plumped increasingly for Clinton. The Rev Jeremiah Wright issue has severely damaged Obama.

The 30% African American electorate in North Carolina has to some extent blunted Clinton's success and handed the state to Obama.
Obama’s victory in North Carolina is a major blow to Clinton who had hoped to secure knock out successes in both states. Such an outcome would have rocked the super delegates and possibly stampeded them into the Clinton camp.

Obama’s success does not alter the fact that if he secures the Democratic nomination-as is highly probable- he is likely to lose a sizeable section of Reagan Democrats to John McCain.
It is probable that Clinton as Democratic candidate would hold a higher proportion of the conservative Democrat vote. She will target super delegates with this message in a final effort to detach them from Obama. It is important to remember that Clinton has adopted an increasingly conservative posture to win white working class votes. This has camouflaged her liberal policies. It is a political stunt, which has worked well for her.

She will also endeavour to secure voting rights for the Michigan and Florida delegates. Will the Democratic nominee be chosen by only 48 of the 50 states?
A resolution of this issue could help Clinton.

If the super delegates were to move towards Clinton and deprive Obama of the nomination the Democratic Party would be torn asunder as African Americans walked out at the Convention. This is unlikely to happen.

Delegates are damned if they do and damned if they don’t. This is music to the ears of John McCain who needs every break that he can get.


Today McCain reassured conservative voters on the issue of the appointment of conservative judges. This is an astute move, which will appeal to Reagan Democrats and will help consolidate GOP support.

Clinton prepares for Democratic Convention Bloodbath as huge split looms-The Lady is not for turning

In an interview with Greta Van Susteren tonight -on Fox News- Clinton was strong on aspirations but weak on solutions. She had something for every one in the audience. She used all the usual soothing sound bytes designed to woo the electorate. She talked about a strong middle class and then outlined a wish list, which if brought to fruition would cripple the middle class -by higher taxation. When challenged to outline her policy on job creation she hinted at curtailing free trade. Protectionism is a recipe for American stagnation. She failed dismally to outline a clear strategy on wealth creation. In short she has no credible economic policies. A Clinton Presidency will usher in a period of rocketing taxation.

Once more she refused to admit that she told untruths in relation to her trip to Bosnia. As far as she was concerned it was an honest mistake. Unfortunately for Clinton the TV footage tells another story.

In relation to the nomination she outlined her determination to take the fight to the convention floor. She stated that there was ten more states -with millions of votes- to be counted. She consistently emphasised the right of Michigan and Florida voters. She declared that the Florida/Michigan votes would be counted one way or another at the convention. In other words there will be a fire fight on the convention floor if necessary. She consistently blamed Obama for the impasse. Clinton is prepared to fracture the Democratic Party if necessary to get the nomination. The lady is not for turning. The Democratic Party is on the precipice of self-destruction propelled by a ruthless ambitious woman. This is music to the ears of the GOP.

Clinton fights for her political life.

Hillary Clinton is now fighting for her political life. Since Super Tuesday the Obama campaign has continued to build momentum. Barack Obama easily defeated Clinton in the Wisconsin primary last night. He also won the Hawaii caucus decisively. In recent days Clinton has increasingly used negative campaigning. Referring to Obama she has said. "It's time that we move from good words to good works, from sound bites to sound solutions.

Mr Obama has defeated Clinton in ten successive contests since Super Tuesday two weeks ago. Most disconcerting for Clinton is the fact that many blue collar voters, females and the elderly -for long the mainstay of her campaign- have begun to drift towards Obama. The problem for Clinton is that Obama’s support is now well balanced amongst whites, blue-collar workers and the elderly as well as the youth. Obama is no longer over reliant on African Americans.

It is estimated that Obama has the support 1,335 delegates to Clinton’s 1,251.
Sen. Barack Obama has opened up a 14% lead over Hillary Clinton in a national presidential preference telephone survey conducted by Zogby International for Reuters.

The Ohio and Texas primaries will be held on 4 March, together with the smaller states of Vermont and Rhode Island.
Clinton will expect strong Hispanic support in Texas. She was a strong favourite to win Texas . However a CNN poll has shown both candidates are now neck and neck. Even in Texas support for Clinton appears to be ebbing away.
The war of words between both candidates can be expected to intensify. An increasingly desperate and shrill Clinton may drive more voters into the Obama camp. Can the legendary Clinton machine snatch victory from the jaws of defeat?

If Clinton loses Ohio and Texas she is effectively finished as a serious prospect for the nomination. If she wins one, the fight will in all probability go to the convention floor. Hillary and Bill will then endeavour to sway the super delegates by emphasizing that she is the more experienced candidate. If this transpires the ensuing bloodletting could tear the Democratic Party asunder. The issue of the Florida and Michigan delegates has yet to be resolved. Is it likely that only 48 states will choose the Democratic nominee? Clinton will fight furiously to ensure that delegates from Florida and Michigan can vote.
These delegates-if allowed to vote at convention- could exercise a major influence on the outcome.

McCain victory in Florida - a massive blow to Romney

John McCain's victory in Florida has severely dented Romney's prospects of securing the GOP nomination. McCain now has momentum going into Super Tuesday. Rudi Giuliani's poor third place performance ensures that his prospects have been effectively dashed. It is quite possible that Giuliani may withdraw and throw his weight behind McCain. The majority of Giuliani supporters lean more towards McCain than Romney. Mike Huckabee who finished in fourth place intends to contest Super Tuesday. He will have a sizeable block of delegates at the GOP convention. He may become the king maker if neither McCain or Romney has an overall majority of delegates. He leans towards McCain and could yet become a Vice Presidential candidate.

John McCain is now the front runner and favourite to win the GOP nomination. A McCain/ Huckabee ticket would appeal to a wide strand of public opinion. Democrats fear McCain more than Romney. Can Romney turn the tables on McCain on Super Tuesday? One thing is certain he will outspend McCain.

McCain wins South Carolina GOP primary and is now favourite to win nomination

Senator John McCain has scored a narrow victory over Mike Huckabee by 33% to 30%. In a state with such a high proportion of evangelical voters this is no mean achievement. Fred Thompson performed poorly securing 16% of the vote. Mitt Romney won just 15% of the vote. It is probable that Thompson damaged Mike Huckabee's prospects. Thompson has no realistic prospect of securing the GOP nomination and will probably bow out. It is now onto Florida for candidates for the nomination. Huckabee's campaign is hamstrung by lack of financial muscle. This will be highly problematic for him in Florida and later on Super Tuesday.

John McCain's campaign is now gaining momentum. This must make him favourite to win in Florida. Giuliani's failure to engage seriously in South Carolina and Iowa may cost him dearly. Indeed it is arguable that he will never be acceptable to a large segment of the Republican base-especially the social conservatives. McCain has attempted to mend fences with conservatives. This appears to be be paying rich political dividends. A key factor in the outcome in Florida will be the number of absentee ballots already cast. Romney will pour in huge financial resources into Florida. Mitt Romney spent $4 million in South Carolina. Nevertheless McCain may possibly shade Florida.

Mike Huckabee Life, Death & Jesus

Whilst I do not agree with the death penalty, this clip from the CNN/YouTube GOP debate in Florida, clearly illustrates the power of Mike Huckabee as a candidate. He would make a wonderful President. He won the debate quite easily with a performance embellished by clarity of thought. Without doubt he is a fiscal and social conservative.
