Video: McCain interview snub to Palin on Jay Leno diminishes his influence in GOP

John McCain's standing-amongst many grassroots Republicans-has plummeted in the wake of his calculated insult to Sarah Palin. He has angered many in the base. Indeed many conservatives who voted for him will now feel cheated. He may fancy himself as a kingmaker for 2012. But in reality he is finished. His snub to Palin was a cheap shot and leaves McCain diminished. He sought to ingratiate himself with his liberal audience by slurring Sarah Palin. He has now joined the liberal wolf pack in the pursuit of Palin. Shame on him.

Video: Democrats target Rush Limbaugh as the Ultimate Straw Man in attempt to paint Republican Party as extremist

The Straw Man strategy: Finding someone really well known and really unpopular in your opposing party to make him/her the poster child for your foes. This approach has been used by both Republicans and Democrats. Straw Men include Rush Limbaugh, Michael Moore, Jimmy Carter, Ronald Reagan and Newt Gingrich.
Recently Rush Limbaugh has become the new whipping boy for the Democrats. The Dems have talked up Newt as the leader of the GOP. The Democrats are attempting to paint Limbaugh as an eccentric and extreme right-winger and by extension the whole Republican Party.

Georgia:Sarah Palin in huge boost for Sen. Saxby Chambliss campaign

The Dec. 2nd senate runoff in Georgia between Sen. Saxby Chambliss and Democrat Jim Martin has assumed huge local and national significance.
The Democrats at present hold 58 seats in the Senate. 60 seats would provide a filibuster proof majority and give the Dems absolute power. Victory in the recount in Minnesota and in the run off election in Georgia would provide the necessary two seats and relegate the GOP to relative powerlessness.

A titanic struggle is under way in Georgia. This is a state, which in the normal course of events should go to the GOP. However on this occasion it could slip away.
John McCain , former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee and Mitt Romney have campaigned for Chambliss. Former president Bill Clinton and Vice President Al Gore have appeared for Martin.

Between Oct. 16 and Nov.12, FEC filings show that Martin raised $2.4 million to Chambliss' $1.9 million.NARAL Pro-Choice America, the Service Employees International Union, the League Of Conservation Voters Action Fund and the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee have sent more than $1.7 million to help Martin.

A new poll conducted for the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee by the Mellman Group now shows Chambliss leading Martin 48% to 46%. Thus the election is too close to call.
It is against this background that the entrance of Sarah Palin is highly significant. Palin wowed the conservative base in the presidential campaign and drew massive crowds. The McCain-Palin ticket carried Georgia on Nov. 4 by about 200,000 votes. Her decision to campaign in Georgia for Chambliss will push the GOP machine into overdrive and should help to tilt the balance. Sarah Palin will join Chambliss for four public rallies on Monday, December 1st: 8:30 am in Augusta; 11:00 am in Savannah; 1:30 pm in Perry; and 4:00 pm in north metro Atlanta.

Sarah Palin sets the record straight in interview with Greta Van Susteren on Fox News

In this interview Sarah Palin clears up the clothes controversy in a most comprehensive manner. It is glaringly obvious that the liberal media and some Democrat politicians misrepresented the reality. She answers malicious allegations made by an anonymous aide concerning NAFTA and her alleged lack of geographical knowledge. She speaks about ugly attacks made on her and about their impact on her family. She discusses the failure of the media to correct false allegations made against her.

She discusses the possible reasons for the opposition of feminists and surmises that her strong pro-life position is at the root of their antagonism. She also speaks about her political future. Finally her friend outlines the truth in relation to the real Sarah Palin.

Palin Leaks -McCain Staffer scores own goal in leaks to Carl Cameron (Palin in dignified response)

Leaks from a McCain staffer to Carl Cameron are to say the least unsavoury and cowardly. They are not credible. Palin’s dignified response is a mark of her greatness.
The GOP lost the election because of the economy -NOT because of Sarah Palin. Palin fought a dynamic campaign and drew massive crowds. She energised the base. Campaign contributions flooded in, in the wake of her selection. She asked the hard questions. The liberal media unfairly targeted Sarah Palin. She was torn to pieces. Now to hear so called Republicans engaging in the same type of nastiness says it all. She is a rising star. This may be a pre-emptive strike to damage Palin’s prospects for 2012. It has failed.

I always await for both sides of any story before making my mind up. I always discount anonymous comments. They should be binned. Those who leak have an agenda. We have got one side of the story. Once the Wall Street implosion occurred in September the electorate opted for Obama/Biden. Just look at the polls.

These leaks have served to turn attention back on the management of the campaign. Perhaps it is time to examine the role of McCain’s advisors. They FAILED utterly to string together a meaningful campaign. It was Joe the Plumber who managed to focus the campaign on the taxation issue. These anonymous sources are trying to hide their abject failure.

Demonising Palin is a red herring. It is a smokescreen to mask the advisors failure. Which advisors for instance decided to opt for NEGATIVE ADVERTISING? ?????? It was a huge turn off for many young new voters.
I place no blame on McCain or Palin for the defeat. Perhaps some of the staffers should put their hands up and admit to the failure of their campaign strategy.

Whither the Republican Party-Obama victory a pyrrhic victory? Cosmetic politics wins the day

There is no denying the scale of Barrack Obamas victory in terms of Electoral College votes. However his share of the popular vote is 52%. It is hardly a wringing endorsement. McCain/Palin secured 46% in the teeth of an economic tsunami, which struck their campaign in September. In addition McCain /Palin had to fight against efforts to tie them to the unpopular Bush presidency. Sarah Palin was subjected to a vicious campaign by Democrats and their acolytes in the liberal media. Her appearance, her dress sense, her character, and her family were shredded in one of the ugliest witch-hunts ever witnessed in American politics. 70% of media coverage was favourable to Obama. CNN, CBS, ABC, NBC,MSNBC favoured Obama/Biden.

John McCain was painted by Democrats as out of touch. His age and health were called into question. Obama spent 600 million dollars to secure his election-a spending splurge unparalleled in US presidential history. The Obama campaign registered millions of Hispanics and African Americans. It pushed early voting to the limits.

Obama continuously emphasized a middle income tax cut. Each speech was peppered with references to change. All very nebulous, all very soothing. Music to the ears of young voters. And yet he barely broke 50%- driven by a favourable gale of political circumstances. The McCain/Palin performance is amazing in the teeth of such unfavourable circumstances.

The message is clear. The GOP is defeated but unbroken. The internal contradictions in Obama's policy positions will come back to haunt him. His promises of a middle income tax cuts cannot be fulfilled by rational economic means. Of course he can increase the deficit to fund tax cuts. Any such decision will court an economic catastrophe. He will of course increase capital gains and dividend taxes. Businesses face a tax hike. This is a recipe for disaster.
In addition he is beholden to workers in states such as Michigan, Illinois, Pennsylvania et al. He has promised to renegotiate NAFTA. He has promised increased protectionism. He has neatly conveyed the message to workers in old declining industries that he is their saviour. Such workers will soon become disillusioned as Obama’s promises fail to deliver.

The GOP must fiercely oppose increased spending plans of Obama and the Socialist/Liberal Democrat controlled Congress. Republicans must go back to basics and defend taxpayers. They must virulently oppose pork barrel projects. Bailouts must cease. They must learn from the organizational efforts of Obama. Efforts must be made to win back Hispanic voters.
By 2010 Democrats will have controlled Congress for four years. The electorate will vent its spleen on the big spenders.
By 2012 it is likely that the Democrats will have controlled Congress for six years whilst a Democrat will have held the presidency for four years. Obama and his friends in Congress will have no place to hide.
The GOP has excellent presidential material coming through. Sarah Palin, Mitt Romney, Mike Huckabee, Bobby Jindal amongst others are likely to seek a presidential nomination.

John McCain campaigns with California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger in Ohio

Here Arnold Schwarzenegger gives a superb introductory speech explaining how John McCain has been tried and tested.
In the words of Arnold Schwarzenegger:

"He has spent five and a half years as a prisoner of war. He has been tested under torture, under deprivation, under temptation and isolation. He has served his country longer in a POW camp than his opponent has served in the United States Senate. John has proven what kind of a man he is. We do not have to wonder if he is ready to lead. We do not have to wonder if he is ready to be President of the United States. John McCain is a real action hero."

Obama Campaign stifles free speech and boots McCain endorsing Journalists off plane

“The Obama campaign has decided to heave out three newspapers from its plane for the final days of its blitz across battleground states -- and all three endorsed Sen. John McCain for president! The NY POST, WASHINGTON TIMES and DALLAS MORNING NEWS have all been told to move out by Sunday to make room for network bigwigs -- and possibly for the inclusion of reporters from two black magazines, ESSENCE and JET”, the DRUDGE REPORT has learned.

This decision exposes the real Obama and smacks of Stalinism. It is a fine example of the Socialist jackboot in action. So much for unifying America. So much for reaching across to the other side of the political divide. So much for unifying red and blue states. It is glaringly obvious that Barack is incapable of taking criticism. In recent weeks he has lambasted Sean Hannity of Fox News. Hannity has dared to question the credentials of the Messiah.

Obama has benefited from the overwhelming support of the media in this campaign. CNN, CBS, ABC, NBC,MSNBC have provided overwhelmingly favourable comment. In short the electronic media and print media have heavily favoured Obama. This is unhealthy in a democracy. It has deified Obama. In general the liberal media has failed to subject the Obama policy platform to proper scrutiny. This cult of the leader would not be out of place in Stalinist Russia. Obama as a left wing Socialist obviously believes the propaganda of his supporters in the liberal media.
In all probability Obama if elected will attempt to take out Talk Radio. There have been threats from the Democrats that licenses would be withdrawn from radio stations, which carried ads from the NRA..

This has much in common with Castro’s Cuba and Hugo Chavez’s Venezuela. No doubt both would approve of Baracks attempts to muzzle the media. Does Obama believe in free speech?

Florida Video: Cuban- Americans fear Socialist Obama who will negotiate with Castro and Chavez

As this Sky News video explains many Cuban Americans in Florida fear Obama. They regard him as a North American Socialist who will negotiate with Castro and Chavez. These are the people who have good reason to detest Castro. The majority of Cuban Americans see Obama as radical on the left. They are voting in large numbers for John McCain.

Sarah Palin's a Brainiac by Elaine Lafferty-The former editor in chief of Ms. Magazine

This article provides an insight into the real Sarah Palin. The author is a Democrat, but is working as a consultant with the McCain campaign since shortly after Palin's nomination. This is a story which has been hidden by the liberal media.
Here are some notable quotes:

“It's difficult not to froth when one reads, as I did again and again this week, doubts about Sarah Palin's “intelligence,” coming especially from women such as PBS's Bonnie Erbe,”………………….

“They know what I know, and I learned it from spending just a little time travelling on the cramped campaign plane this week: Sarah Palin is very smart”…

“Now by “smart,” I don't refer to a person who is wily or calculating or nimble in the way of certain talented athletes who we admire but suspect don't really have serious brains in their skulls. I mean, instead, a mind that is thoughtful, curious, with a discernable pattern of associative thinking and insight. Palin asks questions, and probes linkages and logic that bring to mind a quirky law professor I once had. Palin is more than a “quick study”; I'd heard rumors around the campaign of her photographic memory and, frankly, I watched it in action. She sees. She processes. She questions, and only then, she acts. What is often called her “confidence” is actually a rarity in national politics: I saw a woman who knows exactly who she is……”

Sarah Palin whose son Trig has Down syndrome is a champion of special needs children. The parents of such children are real heroes. Many are flocking to Palin's rallies. This is a story hidden by the liberal media. On the campaign trail the real Sarah Palin shines through. She is a woman of great compassion. Obama supporters Protest C*nt Sarah Palin in Philadelphia (Time for Obama to apologise)

It is time for Barack Obama to apologise for the outrageous behaviour of his supporters in Philadelphia. The Gateway Pundit carries excellent pictures portraying the hatred of Obamas Lefties for Palin. Of course this is a story which will not see the light of day in the liberal media.

In Tuesday nights presidential debate from New York, Barack Obama smeared Sarah Palin. He said when addressing John McCain : “at some of the rallies that your running mate was holding there were shouts of …. "kill him. He also said "your running mate didn't mention, didn't stop, didn't say 'hold on a second, that's kind of out of line' ". Obama LIED. These allegations were investigated by the Secret Service PRIOR to the debate and found to be false. So after all Obama is not the Messiah.
Meanwhile the HATE CAMPAIGN by Obama supporters trundles on.

McCain -- national punchbag for crisis the Democrats created- says Ruth Dudley Edwards

This article in the Sunday Independent is an excellent analysis of the genesis of the current economic crisis prevailing not alone in the US but throughout the world. It is also weighs the relative merits of both John McCain and Barack Obama as presidential material. Here are some excerpts:

".......The road to hell is paved with good intentions, and the economic hell that the world is now experiencing began with the determination of Bill Clinton and the Democratic Party to force mortgage providers to help the poor -- particularly those from ethnic minorities -- to become home owners.

Clinton became alarmed at the rampant success of his policy enforcers, but his attempt to introduce regulation of the sub-prime market was shot down in Congress by his own party, who were in thrall to the powerful Congressional Black Caucus who attacked prudence as racism.
George W Bush's several attempts to rein back mortgage providers were similarly sabotaged. "The Democrats are our family," said the head of Freddie Mac to the meeting of the Black Caucus in 2004 at which Obama was welcomed into the group: "You are our conscience."

There are hundreds of thousands of poor people, black, white and Hispanic, who are now homeless because the Democratic Party allowed itself to be bullied by that caucus. And Obama's failure to question the group's activities is all of a piece with his political record. He talks of change but -- unlike McCain, who is an instinctive and brave reformer -- as a politician he has never questioned the institutions of which he has been part......"

"....As a state senator for eight years, he never challenged corruption in the Democratic political sewer that is Chicago. On the contrary, he sucked up to the power-brokers and wheeler-dealers and chose as his friends people who could help him extend his political base. ......"

Pennsylvania-Palin promises tax-cut during Scranton visit

Visiting Northeast Pennsylvania for the first time, Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin touted the new economic plan running mate John McCain unveiled Tuesday...... The new economic plan would get the nation “through a time of testing” and put “the economy back on track,” she said.
“Under this plan, we’ll help American families keep their homes and save family neighborhoods and bring stability to our housing market,” Mrs. Palin said. The plan seeks to reduce to 10 percent the tax on senior-citizen withdrawals from retirement accounts in 2008 and 2009, reduce to 7.5 percent the capital gains tax in 2009 and 2010 and quintuple deductions of capital losses. It is meant to supplement Mr. McCain’s call last week for a $300 billion government purchase of troubled mortgages.Mrs. Palin’s 29-minute speech was frequently interrupted with applause or chants of “Sarah! Sarah! Sarah!” ........... Full Report:The Times Tribune

NY - Third Presidential Debate-McCain goes on the attack (Obama Company Taxation plans will send millions of jobs to Europe and Asia)

This debate featured sharper exchanges than the previous two. McCain was the more forceful of the two candidates and delved forensically into policy matters. Obama attempted to parry McCain attacks. This is a calculated strategy to avoid a detailed analysis of Obama policies many of which do not stand up to scrutiny especially in the current financial crisis. His promises of a middle class tax cut are hot air-incapable of being implemented in the current financial circumstances, without a spending freeze-which Obama opposes.

The debate opened with a discussion on taxation. John McCain stressed the need to reduce taxes and the necessity not to increase taxes on the likes of Joe Plumber. McCain opposed Obamas plans to increase company taxation on the basis of a jobs outflow to lower taxation destinations in Europe and Asia. Obama spoke about middle class tax cuts. McCain emphasized the necessity to reduce taxes on business to increase employment opportunities.

The next topic was the deficit. Both candidates spoke about the necessity of reducing the deficit. McCain was far more specific. He emphasized a spending freeze and detailed methods for balancing the budget. Obama was particularly weak on this topic. Obama opposed a spending freeze. Hence his proposals for a middle income tax cut go up in smoke. McCain emphasized that Obama has proposals for 860 billion dollars in extra spending.

Obama attempted to tie McCain to President Bush. John McCain said:”I am not President Bush.” John McCain said that Barack Obama had voted for two budgets, which increased taxes on those earning over 42,000 dollars. Obama denied this –not too convincingly.

The third segment featured negative campaigning. Both candidates criticized each others campaign strategies. Obama criticized comments at Sarah Palins rallies. McCain strongly defended her. He outlined how he had condemned any unfair comments in contrast to Obama who had singularly failed to do so. McCain referred to disgraceful happenings at Democratic rallies, which had largely gone unreported. He referred to outrageous comments by Democrat Congressman John Lewis who attempted to tie him to George Wallace. William Ayres and Acorn figured strongly. This may have damaged Obama. Obama failed to convince here.

The next topic was advisors and running mates.McCain listed Palin’s achievements in Alaska on energy, rooting out of corruption and balancing the budget. Obama defended Joe Biden. John McCain referred to Biden’s vote against the First Gulf War and a proposal to divide Iraq in three segments-both serious blunders.

Energy was the next topic featured. McCain was stronger on energy hammering Obama on nuclear and off shore drilling. Obama is opposed to more nuclear and off shore drilling.

Trade featured next with sharp exchanges on free trade. McCain caught Obama on trade with Colombia. McCain warned that to restrict free trade and to raise taxes is to trigger a depression. He is correct. NAFTA also figured here.

Health Plans figured next. Both candidates rehearsed the same arguments as in the previous two debates. On this occasion McCain explained clearly that 95% of Americans would be better off under his plan. He had failed to explain this fully previously.

Roe V Wade came up for discussion. McCain damaged Obama on the issue of partial birth abortion. Obama waffled on this issue. Obama supports tax payer funded abortions.

Education featured sharp exchanges. Obama appears content to throw money at the problem. McCain was stronger on reform of the system.

Obama's approach is governed by a desire to Spend, Spend, Spend. Greater state involvement, greater state involvement. The corollary of this is higher taxation and stagnation. Obama's coolness and smooth talking is no substitute for substance. Obama's policy of higher taxation on businesses is a godsend to workers in Europe and Asia. More American plants will move to these destinations to avoid higher taxation. His company taxation policy is economic lunacy. American workers vote for Obama if you wish to send your jobs to Europe and Asia. No wonder most Europeans are rooting for Obama.
