Democrat Congressman Steve Cohen compares Sarah Palin to Pontius Pilate

The Democratic Party smear merchants have now gone into overdrive in an effort to destroy Sarah Palin. Comments by Tennessee Democrat Congressman Steve Cohen-a strong supporter of Barack Obama- comparing Sarah Palin to Pontius Pilate are quite simply inappropriate. Cohen stated that"Obama was a community organizer like Jesus ... Pontius Pilate was a governor". Pilate was the man who agreed to condemn Jesus to crucifixion. Comparing Obama to Jesus is nonsensical. Obama supports partial birth abortion. This is at odds with the teaching of Jesus. The selection of Sarah Palin as John McCain's running mate gives women a voice. Obama could have chosen a female running mate. He failed to do so. There is an element of sour grapes in many Democratic Party statements in relation to Sarah Palin. Today also South Carolina Democratic chairwoman Carol Fowler attacked Sarah Palin stating that John McCain had chosen a running mate " whose primary qualification seems to be that she hasn’t had an abortion.” The ugly Democrat campaign to demean Palin continues unabated.
Footnote:Fowler later issued a statement stating "I apologize to anyone who finds my comment offensive...."

Clintons hypocrisy on the race issue stinks

Hillary Clinton’s hypocrisy on the race issue stands condemned. In the course of her New Hampshire primary campaign she decided to launch an exocet in the form of the race card. She said that while Martin Luther King talked about equality, it took a president like Lyndon Baines Johnson to do the real work of getting civil rights passed. Essentially she was stating that Martin Luther King was all talk and no action just like Barack Obama. Responsibility for the ugly racial squabbles within the Democratic Party rests with Clinton and not with Obama.

Former Democratic Vice Presidential candidate Geraldine Ferraro quit her links to the Hillary Clinton campaign yesterday after she attributed Barack Obama's success to the fact that he was black. Her remarks have created a political storm. Ferraro in introducing the race issue had merely taken her cue from Bill and Hillary Clinton. Of Ferraro's comment, Hillary Clinton said: ''I certainly do repudiate it and I regret deeply that it was said. Obviously she doesn't speak for the campaign, she doesn't speak for any of my positions, and she has resigned from being a member of my very large finance committee.'' Of course Hillary required her resignation. This is a meaningless gesture. Ferraro has done the dirty work for Hillary by keeping the race issue on the boil. Secretly Hillary is happy with Ferraro’s comments. They serve to widen the chasm between Caucasoids and African Americans.

Last night Hillary Clinton apologized to leaders of 200 black community newspapers for any offense caused by her husband's comments on January 26th comparing Barack Obama's victory in the South Carolina primary to Jesse Jackson's in 1984 and 1988. This was an ugly smear designed to couple Obama with Jackson who is detested by a large segment of the white community.
Bill Clinton’s comments -at the behest of Hillary- fanned the flames of racial division. There is evidence that this tactic has worked in states such as Ohio.

On March 13th almost seven weeks after the event Hillary decided to “apologise” for Bills comments. Her hypocrisy stinks to high heavens. Did Bill resign? Of course not. This “apology" is a meaningless gesture.

Whilst Democrats squabble on the race issues the GOP promotes African Americans such as Colin Powell and Condoleezza Rice.
Hillary Clinton should withdraw from the campaign. She is a divisive influence. It is time for the US to elect John McCain.

Racism lubricates the wheels of the Clinton campaign

Racism lubricates the wheels of the Clinton campaign. The Clintons are engaged in a subtle campaign to polarise the electorate into a Caucasian v African American fight. If Republican Party politicians had behaved in a similar manner Liberals would have had a field day. The Liberal media is largely silent.

(1) Remarks made by Clinton about the role of Martin Luther King, Jr. in the Civil Rights movement provided clearcut evidence that Hillary intended to use the race card. She said that while Martin Luther King talked about equality, it took a president like Lyndon Baines Johnson to do the real work of getting civil rights passed. Essentially she was stating that Martin Luther King was all talk and no action just like Barack Obama.

(2) In Columbia, SC Bill Clinton said: "Jesse Jackson won South Carolina in '84 and '88. Jackson ran a good campaign. And Obama ran a good campaign here."
This was in response to a question from ABC News' David Wright about it taking "two Clintons to beat" Obama. Jackson's name had not been mentioned.

(3) The photo of Obama in traditional Kenyan attire. There is a strong suspicion that this came from the Clinton campaign.

(4) Staunch Clinton supporter and former vice presidential candidate Geraldine Ferraro said:
“If Obama was a white man, he would not be in this position. And if he was a woman of any colour, he would not be this position. He happens to be very lucky to be who he is. And the country is caught up in this concept.”

Bill Clinton is Hillary's mudguard in a Machiavellian campaign strategy

Yesterday in Columbia, South Carolina Bill Clinton said: "Jesse Jackson won South Carolina in '84 and '88. Jackson ran a good campaign. And Obama ran a good campaign here."
This was in response to a question about Obama. Jackson's name had not been mentioned in the question. He is a controversial figure who is loathed by many Whites.
The introduction of Jackson's name is a calculated strategy by both Hillary and Bill Clinton to stir up racist fears amongst Whites. This will stampede white Democratic voters into the Hillary camp on Super Tuesday and ensure that she secures the nomination.
The same tactic has worked in New Hampshire. As far as Hillary is concerned the African-American community will soon forget and troop into the polls to support her in the Presidential Election in November.
Bill Clinton's comments are not an isolated occurrence. Hillary Clinton's reference to Martin Luther King Jnr was designed to divide the electorate on racial grounds and incite a furious reaction from Blacks. Of course it worked and solidified the view among the electorate that this is a White versus Black fight for the Democratic nomination.
Bill is Hillary's mudguard. She uses him to inject dirt into the campaign. Bill takes the flak and Hillary benefits.
This is a carefully thought out strategy. The Clinton's leave nothing to chance. Machiavelli is alive an kicking.

Obama hammers Clinton in South Carolina

Barack Obama has scored a crushing victory over Hillary Cinton by 2 to 1. John Edwards polled very poorly scoring 18% of the vote. Obama won 81% of the African-American vote and 25% of the White vote. The fact that more than 50% of the Democratic electorate here is African-American made the victory inevitable. Nevertheless the decisiveness of the Obama victory must boost his prospects on Super Tuesday. Caroline Kennedy's endorsement will not hurt Obama.

Many African-Americans had intended to vote for Clinton. The ugly campaign fought by Bill and Hillary Clinton backfired and galvanised them to support Obama. There is evidence that a sizeable minority of white voters in the last days of the campaign recoiled in disgust at the Clintons and voted for Edwards. Obama can legitimately claim that he represents both communities as he secured 25% of the white vote in a three person race.

The Clintons have attempted to inject a racial element into the campaign in a subtle manner. Polarisation of the electorate would ensure that Obama is seen as the African-American candidate and Hillary is seen as the White candidate. The Clinton reasoning is that the White candidate will secure the Democratic nomination. The racial element to the campaign boosted Hillary in New Hampshire. It may yet tilt the race in Hillary's favour. In addition the majority of Latinos will vote for Clinton. Clinton remains the favourite

Personal Democratic SC Debate: Hillary Clinton Barack Obama

This debate clearly illustrates the enmity between Obama and Clinton. The Clinton machine has introduced the race issue into the campaign. There were the ugly robo calls in Nevada. Bill Clinton's disparaging remarks about Obama and Hillary Clinton's faux pas in relation to Martin Luther King Jnr formed the background to this ugly squabble. Billary-oops Hillary-has a hectoring badgering style that the US could well do without. She is a divisive influence and has now split the Democratic Party. Billary will further polarise American society. Clinton and Obama are Socialists who believe in high tax rates. Neither has a properly funded programme. Hopefully future debates will focus on the big government plans of Obama and Clinton. Also much of Billary's funding comes from lobbyists. Will future debates discuss the implications of this?

McCain wins South Carolina GOP primary and is now favourite to win nomination

Senator John McCain has scored a narrow victory over Mike Huckabee by 33% to 30%. In a state with such a high proportion of evangelical voters this is no mean achievement. Fred Thompson performed poorly securing 16% of the vote. Mitt Romney won just 15% of the vote. It is probable that Thompson damaged Mike Huckabee's prospects. Thompson has no realistic prospect of securing the GOP nomination and will probably bow out. It is now onto Florida for candidates for the nomination. Huckabee's campaign is hamstrung by lack of financial muscle. This will be highly problematic for him in Florida and later on Super Tuesday.

John McCain's campaign is now gaining momentum. This must make him favourite to win in Florida. Giuliani's failure to engage seriously in South Carolina and Iowa may cost him dearly. Indeed it is arguable that he will never be acceptable to a large segment of the Republican base-especially the social conservatives. McCain has attempted to mend fences with conservatives. This appears to be be paying rich political dividends. A key factor in the outcome in Florida will be the number of absentee ballots already cast. Romney will pour in huge financial resources into Florida. Mitt Romney spent $4 million in South Carolina. Nevertheless McCain may possibly shade Florida.

Fox News calls Iowa for Huckabee

Fox News has called the Iowa GOP caucus for Mike Huckabee. This is a crushing defeat for high spending Mitt Romney. Romney must now win New Hampshire if he is to regain momentum. Here he is under pressure from a resurgent John McCain. Mike Huckabee -boosted by tonight's stunning victory- can now target South Carolina with confidence. However his campaign badly needs an infusion of funds. His decision to desist from negative campaigning has been vindicated. In fact negative advertising backfired on Mitt Romney. Whilst it is true that Huckabee got overwhelming support from evangelicals it is also true to say that he had a clear cut message as a fiscal conservative. This resonates with the voters .
