Fox News calls Iowa for Obama

Fox News has called the Democratic caucus for Barack Obama. This is a bad blow for Hillary Clinton's campaign. However it is not fatal as the Clinton machine has large financial resources and a powerful campaign organization in New Hampshire. Clinton will enter the Democratic primary in New Hampshire as favourite. However Obama now has momentum. His victory over Clinton is particularly noteworthy as it has occurred in a state which is 95% white. It appears that he secured a higher percentage of female votes than Clinton.

Fox News has called the Iowa GOP caucus for Mike Huckabee. This is a crushing defeat for high spending Mitt Romney. Romney must now win New Hampshire if he is to regain momentum. Here he is under pressure from a resurgent John McCain. Mike Huckabee -boosted by tonight's stunning victory- can now target South Carolina with confidence. However his campaign badly needs an infusion of funds. His decision to desist from negative campaigning has been vindicated. In fact negative advertising backfired on Mitt Romney. Whilst it is true that Huckabee got overwhelming support from evangelicals it is also true to say that he had a clear cut message as a fiscal conservative. This resonates with the voters .

Pro abortion group Emily's List is pulling out all the stops to ensure that Hillary Clinton wins the Iowan Democratic caucus. Emily's List’s Political Opportunity Program (POP) helps pro-abortion Democratic women run for state and local office. It also actively recruits and encourages pro-abortion Democratic women to run for election.

This group which backs pro-abortion Democratic women who support partial-birth abortions conducted a web survey in Iowa in October 2007. The purpose of this survey was to ascertain the the level of interest among Democratic women in the caucus process. It found that only 30 percent of those polled were absolutely certain they would participate whilst another 20 percent were highly likely to attend. Emily's List is determined to ensure a very high turn out of pro abortion women to support Clinton. It has a website offering Iowan women of all ages key information on the caucuses. It is estimated that the organization is targeting 60,000 women with direct mail, emails, and phone-banking in the days leading up to the caucus vote.

This group is spending $500,000 in support of Hillary Clinton in Iowa. How can the hypocritical Clinton reconcile her Christianity with support for the destruction of the unborn child in the womb. The Democratic party is the pro abortion party.
