RT Video:Russian nomads herd reindeer in Yakutia

RT carries a report from one of the most-remote parts of Russia – the far eastern republic of Sakha, also known as Yakutia. Roughly the size of India, it's Russia's biggest republic. Despite the vast territories, Yakutia is one of the least-populated areas of the country. This fascinating video takes a look at the life of the Yakutian indigenous population, who are mainly reindeer herders. Their life style is certainly markedly different from ours in the west.

Very informative and interesting. These nomads could teach us a few things about life and what is really important.
When I lived in Alaska 40-60 below was a good time to split wood. I loved to hear the strange sounds the wood made at that temperature.
I had only one friend who lived in a tent both in summer and winter with his family. They mushed dogs, fished and lived out in the bush. They used to bring their children almost 20 miles out to the main highway to catch the school bus to Fairbanks.

Fascinating insight into life in Alaska.
And to think that people in Ireland complain about temperatures of 5 below.
