Release Pakistani Christian Woman Asia Bibi Sentenced To Death By Hanging

Asia Bibi is the first woman in Pakistan’s history to be condemned to death under the country’s blasphemy laws. She has been falsely accused of blasphemy. She faces death by hanging. Her crime is to refuse to convert to Islam by remaining true to her Christian faith. She is a Catholic and has five children.

Wikipedia gives the background to the case: In June 2009, Asia Noreen, a farmhand from the village of Ittan Wali in Sheikhupura District, was asked to fetch water; she complied, but some of her Muslim fellow workers refused to drink the water as they considered Christians to be "unclean". Apparently some arguments ensued. There had already been a running feud between Noreen and a neighbour about some property damage. Later some coworkers complained to a cleric that Noreen made derogatory comments about Prophet Muhammad. A mob came to her house, beating her and members of her family before she was rescued by the police. However, the police initiated an investigation about her remarks, resulting in her arrest and prosecution under Section 295 C of the Pakistan Penal.

It is important to stress that Asia Bibi is INNOCENT of any wrongdoing. Her only crime is that she is a Catholic. Christianity is under incessant attack in many Moslem countries.

RTE Drivetime:Olivia O'Leary comments on Enda Kenny too personal (19-06-2012)

Olivia O'Leary's commentary on Enda Kenny on the Drivetime programme this week leaves much to be desired. Of course she is entitled to her opinions in relation to Kenny. We live in a democracy. However this week she over stepped the mark. The personal tone of some of her remarks leaves a bad taste. She was condescending and belittling. The use of the term "duracell bunny" is gratutiously insulting. The use of the words ventriloquist, puppet and dummy in the commentary further lowers the tone and is geared towards belittling Kenny as it leaves an indelible imprint in the listeners mind.

It is risible to listen to her criticism then of Kenny's performance in the Dail. Some opposition TDs have been highly personal with Kenny. There was no mention of that of course. O'Leary would do well to realise that sarcasm does not a commentator make. It is the lowest form of wit. It is unchristian. One gets the impression from the intonation of her voice that she believes that she is the fountain of all knowledge. Olivia you are not God. There was a major error of fact in the commentary just proving that you are fallible like the rest of us.

Strangely for one so opinionated and acerbic she appears incapable of outlining PRACTICAL solutions to Ireland's problems. On the other hand maybe it is not so surprising. It is all too easy for commentators like O'Leary to mouth platitudes and write colour pieces. It is much more difficult to come up with something constructive. There is an increasing tendency in SOME sections of the Irish media to get personal. There is a Dublin Four intellectual snobbery which is directed at rural politicians. It seems O'Leary has been infected by the Dublin Four virus.

Ireland: US Pro Abortion Group targets TCD and University of Limerick, Graduate Medical Schools

There is now a declining number of trained abortionists in the US and Canada. 57% of abortion providers are over the age of 50 testament to the success of American pro-life groups that are increasingly winning the public opinion battle to expose the slaughter of the unborn. Medical Students For Choice pro-abortion group which has been active in the US and Canada has turned its attention to Ireland. Now this pro-abortion group has begun recruiting at TCD and the University of Limerick Graduate Medical Schools. It intends to bring Irish medical students to the US where they will receive first hand training to perform the killing of unborn babies (abortion). It has further plans at Ireland's-other medical schools in Cork, Dublin and Galway- to recruit young students and turn them into future abortionists (baby killers). It also aims to have abortion procedures included in medical school curricula.

This organisation is funded by thirteen wealthy US foundations. Interestingly enough one of these is Roth Family Foundation. Its website bleats on about a desire to "help others who may be less fortunate, to protect freedom and human and civil rights." Sadly the Roth Family Foundation is helping to fund the destruction of the unborn child in its mother's womb. In short it is funding the trampling of the human rights of the unborn contrary to its stated aims to protect human rights.

The annual income of Medical Students For Choice rose from €571,000 to €1,821,000 in just one year. It is linked to Planned Parenthood and NARAL Pro-Choice America. It makes no secret of its intentions. Its mission is "Creating tomorrows abortion providers and pro-choice physicians." Its website boldly proclaims in capital letters "WITH YOUR SUPPORT, WE CAN CONTINUE TO CREATE TOMORROW’S ABORTION PROVIDERS AND PRO-CHOICE PHYSICIANS". Irish pro-life organisations like Family and Life intend to oppose this sinister organisation which hopes to provide a cadre of trained abortionists in Ireland in anticipation of the legalisation of abortion.
