This is a Confederate Song about Irish Confederates fighting in Missouri.
The National Museum of Ireland marked the 150th anniversary of the commencement of the American civil war with a special exhibition this weekend at Collins Barracks. It is estimated that 140,000 Irish fought on the Union side and 40,000 on the Confederate side. This does not take into account the number of soldiers on both sides born in America of Irish parents. Involvement depended upon where Irish emigrants landed in the US.
