Marcus Grodi talks with guest Nicole DeMille who explains why she left the Lutheran Church to become a Catholic. At the end of the programme she makes a very interesting and valid point that the Catholic Church has the Apostolic Succession. The Pope has an unbroken link back to St. Peter.

Apparition to Mirjana at Medjugorje on December 2, 2014
December 2, 2014 Medjugorje Message
“Dear children, remember – for I am telling you that love will win. I know that many of you are losing hope because around you, you see suffering, pain, jealousy, envy… But, I am your mother. I am in the Kingdom but am also here with you. My Son is sending me anew to help you. Therefore, do not lose hope, instead, follow me – because the victory of my heart is in the name of God. My beloved Son is thinking of you as He has always thought of you. Believe Him and live Him. He is the Life of the world. My children, to live my Son means to live the Gospel. This is not easy. This means love, forgiveness and sacrifice. This purifies and it opens the Kingdom. Sincere prayer, which is not only words but is a prayer which the heart speaks, will help you. Likewise fasting, because it is still more of love, forgiveness and sacrifice. Therefore, do not lose hope but follow me. I am imploring you anew to pray for your shepherds so that they may always look to my Son who was the first Shepherd of the world and whose family was the entire world. Thank you.”

Text of speeches by Pope Francis and Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew I at the Orthodox Church of St. George in Istanbul 30/11/14
Text of speech by Pope Francis
When I was the Archbishop of Buenos Aires, I often took part in the celebration of the Divine Liturgy of the Orthodox communities there. Today, the Lord has given me the singular grace to be present in this Patriarchal Church of Saint George for the celebration of the Feast of the holy Apostle Andrew, the first-called, the brother of Saint Peter, and the Patron Saint of the Ecumenical Patriarchate.Meeting each other, seeing each other face to face, exchanging the embrace of peace, and praying for each other, are all essential aspects of our journey towards the restoration of full communion. All of this precedes and always accompanies that other essential aspect of this journey, namely, theological dialogue. An authentic dialogue is, in every case, an encounter between persons with a name, a face, a past, and not merely a meeting of ideas. This is especially true for us Christians, because for us the truth is the person of Jesus Christ. The example of Saint Andrew, who with another disciple accepted the invitation of the Divine Master, “Come and see”, and “stayed with him that day” (Jn 1:39), shows us plainly that the Christian life is a personal experience, a transforming encounter with the One who loves us and who wants to save us. In addition, the Christian message is spread thanks to men and women who are in love with Christ, and cannot help but pass on the joy of being loved and saved. Here again, the example of the apostle Andrew is instructive. After following Jesus to his home and spending time with him, Andrew “first found his brother Simon, and said to him, ‘We have found the Messiah’ (which means Christ). He brought him to Jesus” (Jn 1:40-42). It is clear, therefore, that not even dialogue among Christians can prescind from this logic of personal encounter.
It is not by chance that the path of reconciliation and peace between Catholics and Orthodox was, in some way, ushered in by an encounter, by an embrace between our venerable predecessors, Ecumenical Patriarch Athenagoras and Pope Paul VI, which took place fifty years ago in Jerusalem. Your Holiness and I wished to commemorate that moment when we met recently in the same city where our Lord Jesus Christ died and rose. By happy coincidence, my visit falls a few days after the fiftieth anniversary of the promulgation of Unitatis Redintegratio, the Second Vatican Council’s Decree on Christian Unity. This is a fundamental document which opened new avenues for encounter between Catholics and their brothers and sisters of other Churches and ecclesial communities.
In particular, in that Decree the Catholic Church acknowledges that the Orthodox Churches “possess true sacraments, above all – by apostolic succession – the priesthood and the Eucharist, whereby they are still joined to us in closest intimacy” (15). The Decree goes on to state that in order to guard faithfully the fullness of the Christian tradition and to bring to fulfilment the reconciliation of Eastern and Western Christians, it is of the greatest importance to preserve and support the rich patrimony of the Eastern Churches. This regards not only their liturgical and spiritual traditions, but also their canonical disciplines, sanctioned as they are by the Fathers and by Councils, which regulate the lives of these Churches (cf. 15-16). I believe that it is important to reaffirm respect for this principle as an essential condition, accepted by both, for the restoration of full communion, which does not signify the submission of one to the other, or assimilation. Rather, it means welcoming all the gifts that God has given to each, thus demonstrating to the entire world the great mystery of salvation accomplished by Christ the Lord through the Holy Spirit. I want to assure each one of you here that, to reach the desired goal of full unity, the Catholic Church does not intend to impose any conditions except that of the shared profession of faith. Further, I would add that we are ready to seek together, in light of Scriptural teaching and the experience of the first millennium, the ways in which we can guarantee the needed unity of the Church in the present circumstances. The one thing that the Catholic Church desires, and that I seek as Bishop of Rome, “the Church which presides in charity”, is communion with the Orthodox Churches. Such communion will always be the fruit of that love which “has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us” (cf. Rom 5:5), a fraternal love which expresses the spiritual and transcendent bond which unites us as disciples of the Lord.
In today’s world, voices are being raised which we cannot ignore and which implore our Churches to live deeply our identity as disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ. The first of these voices is that of the poor. In the world, there are too many women and men who suffer from severe malnutrition, growing unemployment, the rising numbers of unemployed youth, and from increasing social exclusion. These can give rise to criminal activity and even the recruitment of terrorists. We cannot remain indifferent before the cries of our brothers and sisters. These ask of us not only material assistance – needed in so many circumstances – but above all, our help to defend their dignity as human persons, so that they can find the spiritual energy to become once again protagonists in their own lives. They ask us to fight, in the light of the Gospel, the structural causes of poverty: inequality, the shortage of dignified work and housing, and the denial of their rights as members of society and as workers. As Christians we are called together to eliminate that globalization of indifference which today seems to reign supreme, while building a new civilization of love and solidarity.
A second plea comes from the victims of the conflicts in so many parts of our world. We hear this resoundingly here, because some neighbouring countries are scarred by an inhumane and brutal war. With profound pain, I think of the many victims of the many victims of the inhuman and senseless attack that recently struck the Muslim faithful as they prayed in the mosque of Kano in Nigeria. Taking away the peace of a people, committing every act of violence – or consenting to such acts – especially when directed against the weakest and defenceless, is a profoundly grave sin against God, since it means showing contempt for the image of God which is in man. The cry of the victims of conflict urges us to move with haste along the path of reconciliation and communion between Catholics and Orthodox. Indeed, how can we credibly proclaim the Gospel of peace which comes from Christ, if there continues to be rivalry and disagreement between us (cf. Paul VI, Evangelii Nuntiandi, 77)?
A third cry which challenges us is that of young people. Today, tragically, there are many young men and women who live without hope, overcome by mistrust and resignation. Many of the young, influenced by the prevailing culture, seek happiness solely in possessing material things and in satisfying their fleeting emotions. New generations will never be able to acquire true wisdom and keep hope alive unless we are able to esteem and transmit the true humanism which comes from the Gospel and from the Church’s age-old experience. It is precisely the young who today implore us to make progress towards full communion. I think for example of the many Orthodox, Catholic and Protestant youth who come together at meetings organized by the TaizĂ© community. They do this not because they ignore the differences which still separate us, but because they are able to see beyond them; they are able to see beyond them, to embrace what is essential and what already unites us which is much holiness.
Dear brother, dearest brother, we are already on the way, on the path towards full communion and already we can experience eloquent signs of an authentic, albeit incomplete union. This offers us reassurance and encourages us to continue on this journey. We are certain that along this journey we are helped by the intercession of the Apostle Andrew and his brother Peter, held by tradition to be the founders of the Churches of Constantinople and of Rome. We ask God for the great gift of full unity, and the ability to accept it in our lives. Let us never forget to pray for one another.
Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew I’s address to Pope Francis:
Your Holiness Pope Francis, beloved brother in Christ, bishop of Senior Rome, We offer glory and praise to our God in Trinity for deeming us worthy of the ineffable joy and special honor of the personal presence here of Your Holiness on the occasion of this year's celebration of the sacred memory of the First-called Apostle Andrew, who founded our Church through his preaching. We are profoundly grateful to Your Holiness for the precious gift of Your blessed presence among us, together with Your honorable entourage. We embrace you wholeheartedly and honorably, addressing you fervently with a greeting of peace and love: "Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ" (Rom. 1.7). "For the love of Christ controls us" (2 Cor. 5.14).
We still vividly preserve in our heart the recollection of our encounter with Your Holiness in the Holy Land for a joint pious pilgrimage in the place where the pioneer of our faith was once born, lived, taught, suffered, was risen and ascended as well as for a thankful remembrance of the historical event of the meeting there by our predecessors, the late Pope Paul VI and Ecumenical Patriarch Athenagoras. As a result of their meeting in the Holy City fifty years ago, the flow of history has literally changed direction: the parallel and occasionally conflicting journeys of our Churches have coincided in the common vision of restoring our lost unity; the cold love between us has been rekindled, while our desire to do everything in our capacity so that our communion in the same faith and the same chalice may once again emerge has been galvanized. Thenceforth, the road to Emmaus has opened up before us – a road that, while perhaps lengthy and sometimes even rugged, is nonetheless irreversible – with the Lord as our companion, until He is revealed to us "in the breaking of the bread" (Luke 24.35).
This way has since been followed – and is still being followed – by all of the successors of those inspired leaders, in turn establishing, dedicating and endorsing the dialogue of love and truth between our Churches in order to lift a millennium of burdens amassed in our relations. This dialogue is one that befits friends and not, as in former times, adversaries, inasmuch as sincerely seek to be rightly dividing the word of truth and respect one another as brothers. In such an atmosphere fashioned by our aforementioned predecessors with respect to our common journey, we too fraternally welcome Your Holiness as bearing the love of St. Peter to his brother, St. Andrew, whose sacred feast we celebrate today. In accordance with a holy custom established and observed for decades now by the Churches of Senior and New Rome, official delegations exchange visits on the occasion of their respective patronal feasts in order to demonstrate by this manner as well the fraternal bond between the two chief Apostles, who together came to know Jesus Christ and to believe in Him as God and Savior. These Apostles transmitted this common faith to the Churches founded by their preaching and sanctified by their martyrdom. This faith was also jointly experienced and articulated into doctrine by our Church Fathers, who assembled from East and West in ecumenical councils, bequeathing it to our Churches as an unshakable foundation of our unity. It is this same faith, which we have together preserved in both East and West for an entire millennium, that we are once again called to deposit as the basis of our unity in order that, "being in full accord and of one mind" (Phil. 2.2), we may press on with Paul "forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead" (Phil. 3.13).
After all, Your Holiness and dear Brother, our obligation is surely not exhausted in the past but primarily extends to the future, especially in our times. For what is the value of our fidelity to the past unless this denotes something for the future? What is the benefit of boasting for what we have received unless these translate into life for humanity and our world both today and tomorrow? "Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and to the ages" (Heb. 13.8). And His Church is called to keep its sight fixed not so much on yesterday as on today and tomorrow. The Church exists not for itself, but for the world and for humanity. Therefore, in directing our sight toward today, we cannot avoid being anxious also for tomorrow. "There is fighting without and fear within" (2 Cor. 7.5) – This recognition of the Apostle Paul about his age is indisputably valid also for us today. Indeed, even as we are preoccupied with our own contentions, the world experiences the fear of survival, the concern for tomorrow. How can humanity survive tomorrow when it is severed today by diverse divisions, conflicts and animosities, frequently even in the name of God? How will the earth's wealth be distributed more equitably in order for humanity tomorrow to avoid the most heinous slavery ever known in history? What sort of planet will future generations inherit when modern man is destroying it so mercilessly and irrevocably through greed?
Nowadays many people place their hope on science; others on politics; still others in technology. Yet none of these can guarantee the future, unless humanity espouses the message of reconciliation, love and justice; the mission of embracing the other, the stranger, and even the enemy. The Church of Christ, who first proclaimed and practiced this teaching, is compelled to be the first to apply this teaching "so that the world may believe" (John 17.21). This is precisely why the path toward unity is more urgent than ever for those who invoke the name of the great Peacemaker. This is precisely why our responsibility as Christians is so great before God, humankind and history.
Your Holiness, Your hitherto brief tenure at the helm of Your Church has already manifested You in people's conscience today as a herald of love, peace and reconciliation. You preach with words, but above and beyond all with the simplicity, humility and love toward everyone that you exercise your high ministry. You inspire trust in those who doubt, hope in those who despair, anticipation in those who expect a Church that nurtures all people. Moreover, You offer to Your Orthodox brothers and sisters the aspiration that during Your tenure the rapprochement of our two great ancient Churches will continue to be established on the solid foundations of our common tradition, which always preserved and acknowledged in the constitution of the Church a primacy of love, honor and service within the framework of collegiality, in order that "with one mouth and one heart" we may confess the Trinitarian God and that His love may be poured out upon the world. Your Holiness,
The Church of Constantinople, which today for the first time receives You with fervent love and honor as well as with heartfelt gratitude, bears upon its shoulders a heavy legacy, but also a responsibility for the present and the future. In this Church, through the order instituted by the holy Ecumenical Councils, divine providence has assigned the responsibility of coordinating and expressing the unanimity of the most holy local Orthodox Churches. In the context of this responsibility, we are already working very assiduously for the preparation of the Holy and Great Council of the Orthodox Church, which – as decided – will convene here, God willing, in 2016. At this time, the appropriate committees are laboring feverishly to prepare this great event in the history of the Orthodox Church, for whose success we also implore Your prayers. Unfortunately, the Eucharistic communion of our Churches that was interrupted one thousand years ago does not yet permit the convocation of a joint Great Ecumenical Council. Let us pray that, once full communion is restored, this significant and special day will also not be prolonged. However, until that blessed day, the participation in one another's synodal life will be expressed through the involvement of observers, as we observe now, with Your gracious invitation to attend Synods of Your Church, just as we hope will also occur when, with God's grace, our Holy and Great Council becomes reality.
Your Holiness, The challenges presented to our Churches by today's historical circumstances oblige us to transcend our introversion in order to meet them with the greatest degree of collaboration. We no longer have the luxury of isolated action. The modern persecutors of Christians do not ask which Church their victims belong to. The unity that concerns us is regrettably already occurring in certain regions of the world through the blood of martyrdom. Together let us extend our hand to people of our time; together let us extend the hand of Him, who alone can save humankind through His Cross and Resurrection. With these thoughts and sentiments, once again we express our joy and thanks at the presence here of Your Holiness, even as we pray that the Lord – through the intercessions of the one we celebrate today, the First-called Apostle and brother of the Chief of the Apostles Peter – may protect His Church and direct it to the fulfilment of His sacred will. Welcome among us, dearly beloved brother!

Message of Our Lady on November 2, 2014
"Dear children, I am with you with the blessing of my Son, with you who love me and who strive to follow me. I also desire to be with you who do not accept me. To all of you I am opening my heart full of love and I am blessing you with my motherly hands. I am a mother who understands you. I lived your life and lived through your sufferings and joys. You who are living the pain understand my pain and suffering because of those of my children who do not permit the light of my Son to illuminate them; those of my children who are living in darkness. This is why I need you - you who have been illuminated by the light and have comprehended the truth.
I am calling you to adore my Son so that your soul may grow and reach true spirituality. My apostles, it is then that you will be able to help me. To help me means to pray for those who have not come to know the love of my Son. In praying for them you are showing to my Son that you love Him and follow Him. My Son promised me that evil will never win, because you, the souls of the just, are here; you who strive to say your prayers with the heart; you who offer your pain and suffering to my Son; you who comprehend that life is only a blink; you who yearn for the Kingdom of Heaven. All of this makes you my apostles and leads you towards the victory of my heart. Therefore, my children, purify your hearts and adore my Son. Thank you.”

Medjugorje-A different world
The Donegal Democrat Newspaper has a beautiful article on Medjugorje:
I am writing today from a little town in Bosnia. There was a terrible war in this country at the time when Donegal were lifting the Sam Maguire for the very first time back in 1992. The war came about as a result of the break up of Yugoslavia. An estimated total of 100,000 people were killed, 20,000 to 50,000 women were raped and over 2.2 million people were displaced making it the most devastating conflict in Europe since the end of World War II... Our Lady's Message to Mirjana:
"With motherly love I implore you, love one another. May there be in you hearts, as my Son desired from the very beginning, love for the Heavenly Father and for your neighbor in the first place - above everything of this world. My dear children, do you not recognize the signs of the times? Do you not recognize that all of this that is around you, all that is happening, is because there is no love? Comprehend that salvation is in true values. Accept the might of the Heavenly Father, love Him and honor Him. Walk in the footsteps of my Son. You, my children, my dear apostles, you are always gathering around me anew, because you are thirsty. You thirst for peace, love and happiness. Drink out of my hands. My hands are offering to you my Son who is the spring of clear water. He will bring your faith back to life and purify your hearts, because my Son loves pure hearts and pure hearts love my Son. Only pure hearts are humble and have firm faith. I ask for such hearts of you, my children. My Son told me that I am the mother of the entire world. I ask of those of you who accept me as such to help me, with your life, prayer and sacrifice, for all of my children to accept me as a mother - so that I may lead them to the spring of the clear water. Thank you. My dear children, as your shepherds offer you the Body of my Son with their blessed hands, always in your hearts give thanks to my Son for the sacrifice and for the shepherds that He always gives you anew."

Message from the Virgin Mary to Mirjana
"Dear children; I, your mother, am coming anew among you out of love which has no end, from endless love of the endless Heavenly Father. And as I am looking into your hearts I see that many of you accept me as a mother and, with sincere and pure hearts, you desire to be my apostles. But, I am also the mother of those of you who do not accept me and who, in the hardness of your hearts, do not desire to come to know the love of my Son. And you do not know how much my heart suffers and how much I pray to my Son for you. I pray to Him to heal your souls because He can do so. I pray to Him to illuminate you with the miracle of the Holy Spirit so that you may stop, always anew, betraying, cursing and wounding Him. With all my heart I pray for you to understand that only my Son is the salvation and the light of the world. And you, my children, my dear apostles, always carry my Son in your hearts and thoughts. In this way you are carrying love. All those who do not know Him will recognize Him in your love. I am always beside you. In a special way I am beside your shepherds because my Son has called them to lead you on the way to eternity. Thank you, my apostles, for your sacrifice and love."

Cardinal Sean O'Malley denounces Massachusetts' new law restricting the activities of pro-life sidewalk counselors
Cardinal Sean O'Malley issued a statement late last week denouncing Massachusetts' new law restricting the activities of pro-life sidewalk counselors as “unjust” and “a misguided use of civil law.” In a statement posted Friday on the Archdiocese of Boston's website – and later on the Cardinal's own blog – Cardinal O'Malley said “the Massachusetts legislature acted with unseemly haste to establish what amounts to a new buffer zone of 25 feet.” “The effect again is to make it very difficult for citizens seeking to offer alternatives to women contemplating an abortion,” he wrote. The new regulations, signed into law by Democratic Governor Deval Patrick last Thursday, replace a 2007 law that barred anyone uttering pro-life speech from 35 feet of any abortion facility's entrance. The Supreme Court unanimously struck down the law earlier this summer. “The Supreme Court seldom is unanimous in our day,” the cardinal noted on his blog... Continue reading HERE.

August 2, 2014 Message to Mirjana
Blessed Mother appeared to Medjugorje visionary Mirjana Dragicevic-Soldo and delivered the following message:
"Dear children, the reason that I am with you, my mission, is to help you for ‘good’ to win, even though this does not seem possible to you now. I know that you do not understand many things as I also did not understand everything, everything that my Son explained to me while He was growing up alongside me – but I believed Him and followed Him. I ask this of you also, to believe me and to follow me. However, my children, to follow me means to love my Son above everything, to love Him in every person without making differences. For you to be able to do this, I call you anew to renunciation, prayer and fasting. I am calling you for the Eucharist to be the life of your soul. I am calling you to be my apostles of light who will spread love and mercy through the world. My children, your life is only a blink in contrast to eternal life. And when you come before my Son, in your hearts He will see how much love you had. In order to spread love in the right way, I am asking my Son, through love, to grant you unity through Him, unity among you, unity between you and your shepherds. Through them my Son always gives Himself to you anew and renews your soul. Do not forget this. Thank you.”

Pope Francis Outlines Ten Tips for a happy life
1. "Live and let live."
2. "Be giving of yourself to others...If you withdraw into yourself, you run the risk of becoming egocentric...And stagnant water becomes putrid."
3. "Proceed calmly [in life]."
4. "A healthy sense of leisure...Consumerism has brought us anxiety, [causing us to lose a] healthy culture of leisure." [At this point, the pope also urged families to turn off the TV when they're eating together.]
5. "Sunday is for family."
6. "We need to be creative with young people. If they have no opportunities, they will get into drugs."
7. "[Environmental degradation] is one of the biggest challenges we have. I think a question that we're not asking ourselves is: 'Isn't humanity committing suicide with this indiscriminate and tyrannical use of nature?"
8. "Needing to talk badly about others indicates low self-esteem. That means, 'I feel so low that instead of picking myself up I have to cut others down.' Letting go of negative things quickly is healthy."
9. "We can inspire others through witness so that one grows together in communicating. But the worst thing of all is religious proselytism, which paralyzes: 'I am talking to you in order to persuade you.' No. Each person dialogues, starting with his and her own identity. The church grows by attraction, not proselytizing."
10. "We are living in a time of many wars, [and] the call for peace must be shouted. Peace sometimes gives the impression of being quiet, but it is never quiet, peace is always proactive."

Medjugorje: Video of Apparition to Mirjana Dragičević - 2 July 2014
July 2, 2014 Message to Mirjana
On July 02, 2014, Our Lady appeared to Mirjana and delivered the following message to the world:
"Dear children, I, the mother of all of you gathered here and the mother of the entire world, am blessing you with a motherly blessing and call you to set out on the way of humility. That way leads to the coming to know the love of my Son. My Son is almighty, He is in everything. If you, my children, do not become cognizant of this, then darkness/blindness rule in your soul. Only humility can heal you. My children, I always lived humbly, courageously and in hope. I knew, I became cognizant that God is in us and we are in God. I am asking the same of you. I desire for all of you to be with me in eternity, because you are a part of me. I will help you on your way. My love will envelop you like a mantle and make of you apostles of my light - of God's light. With the love that comes forth from humility you will bring light to where darkness/blindness rule. You will be bringing my Son who is the light of the world. I am always alongside your shepherds and I pray that they may always be an example of humility for you. Thank you."

Medjugorje apparition to Mirjana Dragicevic - June 2, 2014
June 2, 2014 Message to Mirjana
On June 2, 2014, among a crowd of 30,000 people, Our Lady appeared to the visionary Mirjana at the Blue Cross in Medjugorje and delivered the following message for the world:
"Dear children, I call you all and accept you as my children. I am praying that you may accept me and love me as a mother. I have united all of you in my heart, I have descended among you and I bless you. I know that you desire consolation and hope from me because I love you and intercede for you. I ask of you to unite with me in my Son and to be my apostles. For you to be able to do so, I am calling you, anew, to love. There is no love without prayer—there is no prayer without forgiveness; because love is prayer—forgiveness is love.
My children, God created you to love and you love so as to forgive. Every prayer that comes out of love unites you with my Son and the Holy Spirit; and the Holy Spirit illuminates you and makes you my apostles—apostles who will do everything they do in the name of the Lord. They will pray with their works and not just with words, because they love my Son and comprehend the way of truth which leads to eternal life. Pray for your shepherds that they may always lead you with a pure heart on the way of truth and love––the way of my Son. Thank you."

May13th, 2014 Feast of Our Lady of Fatima- Homily of Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem at Fatima
Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ:
How good it is we are here! How we feel happy, we feel like at Home, next to the Holy Virgin Mary! And how good for us to be together, helping each other with our prayers, imitating each other with our virtues! I sincerely give thanks for the kind invitation of His Excellency Bishop Antonio Marto, and of all the organizers of this great pilgrimage! We come from all over the world to honor the Blessed Virgin, to make an act of reparation to Her Immaculate Heart and to console the Heart of Her beloved Son, Jesus Christ Our Lord.
1. Fatima. A mystery of love, innocence, and holiness. It is good and fruitful for us to come to Fatima. It reminds us, among other things, that when God works and intervenes, He chooses simple people, simple places, plain language. So did He at the outset of the Redemption, when chose Mary, St. Joseph, the Shepherds… So did He to elect the poor house of Nazareth, the Bethlehem manger... the path to exile. So did He dialoguing in a very clear and objective way through the Angel of the Annunciation. He also wants us to be simple!
Here in Fatima He chose three very innocent children, Lucia, Jacinta and Francisco, and an oak-tree in a bare field. He chose the plain language of Mary, of the Angel and of Jesus himself.
We need so much the message of Fatima! We have an urgent need that our youngsters listen to the voice of the innocent Francisco, who increasingly wanted to love Jesus, and wipe His tears. We need that the grown-ups think and act like little Jacinta, this angel from heaven, which in her infancy acted with the seriousness of those who believe that the salvation of the soul, of our souls, is the main issue to which we should devote ourselves. We need that everyone in all parts of the world, consecrate - each according to his specific vocation, as did Sister Lucia - his whole life to incorporate, transmit and propagate the message of Christ, the message of love and reconciliation, and the calling and invitation of Mary at Fatima. Mary’s summons is very opportune and timely. And the world, in danger of spiritual ruin, will not find peace and grace, if it does not strive to put into practice what the Virgin Mary asked here.
2. The Virgin of Fatima was born in Palestine and from there began her itinerant life... From Nazareth – where she will begin to be the Mother of the Incarnate Word - "The full of God", the full of grace, goes in haste to Ain Karem to share this gracious favour in her service of piety and charity. We meet her soon in Bethlehem - where the faithful world (the shepherds) and the heathen populations (the wise men) contemplate the fruit of her virginal womb. Therefrom she, not unlike the millions of refugees in the Middle East and Africa, will take refuge in Egypt, protecting the Son of her virginal womb and growing in the virginal love with St. Joseph.
Afterwards, she returns to Nazareth... accompanies her Son to Cana – where she anticipates the Hour of the Lord, asking Him for a miracle. Then she goes with Her Son to Capernaum... and will join Him in his Way of the Cross... and in his grave. And so she will assist and be associated with the Mystical Body of her Son, the Church... She was present in the Upper Room until the coming of Pentecost... Her presence was enough to reassure the disciples... She never stopped, and always followed and follows the lives of her children.
Thus, throughout history, she appeared in Pilar and Guadeloupe... She just wanted to manifest herself here, to sanctify and consecrate this place with her presence and appearance. Today, following in the footsteps of this beloved pilgrim Mother, I come to Fatima, and bring with me the whole Christian community of Jerusalem to join you in the devotion to Our Lady. It is Mary who unites us in Christ. She makes stronger the vigorous bond that exists between Fatima in Portugal and Jerusalem in the Holy Land. A sanctuary leads us naturally to the other. We, living in the Holy Land, feel attracted to all places where the Mother of God wants to continue to help mankind.
You cannot stop thinking of the places where Mary was born, lived, suffered and was raised to heaven. I invite you also to make and have this experience of Mary´s presence, journeying to Her Land. I will wait for you all with great pleasure! There are many Marian shrines in the world, but She is only one, and teaches us to seek true unity in faith in Her Son and in true charity. To Mary it‘s not difficult to present Herself with various garments and different colors of skin. She is not afraid to speak in different languages. Let us look around us... we came from many parts. We are from different cultures... However, nobody feels alien or strange near to Mary... and together we form one family, a loving family, a family seeking love, peace, health and tranquility. So it is and so it should be. As the Scripture says: “Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity! “(Ps 133, 1)
3. Our Lady of Fatima calls us to conversion, to change of mind and heart. And so she calls us to confession of sins, to pray and sacrifice ourselves for the salvation of all. The message of Fatima is a message coming from the Virgin Mother at the foot of the Cross. Yes! From Her Son’s Golgotha, and from her own Golgotha too, she calls us to conversion. It´s a bittersweet message, both pleasant and painful, because on one hand we contemplate her loving motherhood, that fills us with consolation, but on the other we cannot help but reflect upon the significance of Her Son’s death: his Calvary, his sufferings, and also the sorrows of the Virgin herself ... and the motive of all these sufferings: the salvation of mankind, our salvation. If the Blessed Virgin wanted to come here and call us to conversion, it is because the world is in danger. And not only concerning its material dimension, but its main aspect: all the men and women of the world, each and every one of the inhabitants of the planet earth, are in danger of eternal damnation. Erase or expunge this aspect of the message of Fatima, and the apparition and message of Our Lady will be meaningless. We´ve just finished the Holy Week celebrations. The impressive supplication of Jesus nailed to the Cross on Golgotha in Jerusalem was also repeated in this holy place, "What are you doing?” - asked the Angel to the little Shepherds, who were playing during the siesta -” What are you doing? Pray, pray very much! [...] Make of everything you can a sacrifice, and offer it to God as an act of reparation for the sins by which He is offended, and in supplication for the conversion of sinners.” Christ is our peace. He purchased peace for us with the price of his Blood and his prayers and supplications - “He was heard because of his humility" (Heb 5, 7-8). In Fatima, Heaven also asks us that we may sacrifice and pray for peace: “You will thus draw down peace upon your country" - said the Angel to the little Shepherds. And the Blessed Virgin, soon after asking them if they were willing to suffer for the conversion of sinners, tells them: “Pray the Rosary every day, in order to obtain peace for the world, and the end of war."
4. Dear brothers. How much hatred in the world! How many crimes and how much violence! How much blood is spilled in the filthy altars of idols! Whom can we turn to? To Christ – as Mary taught us at Cana: "Whatsoever he saith unto you, do it." (Jn 2, 1-11). What to do? Pray the Rosary every day; confess; offer sacrifices of everything we can; live in charity. We have many challenges, but we are not alone. Christ assured us that He would be with us “always, even unto the end of the world.” (Mt 28, 20); besides, we have each other to help ourselves, to imitate each other in the good deeds, and associate ourselves in spreading the Gospel values. This year, in the Church, we will consider deeply over the issue and reality of family in the forthcoming Synod of Bishops, called by Pope Francisco for October, and that has as its theme: "Challenges of family." We must reflect upon the family unity; the unity of international family – which includes all nations and peoples of the world; also the unity of the ecclesial family – in the beautiful diversity of its vocations. But, above all, let us think and work for the human family; for that family established by the Creator to be the basis and foundation of society - the family based on the indissoluble marriage between a man and a woman, and created to be a source of mutual love and generous fruitfulness. Let us pray for the fruits of the Synod, for all the families of the world, so that everyone can experience the love of God, manifested within households. Let us also pray for those who, unfortunately, for various reasons suffer in their family conditions and circumstances. May they persist and not lose their faith or hope in God. The family strength in the East could, in some aspects, serve and act as a stimulus to many serious realities occurring in the West, and show that it is not impossible to live and have a sound family life: love and family ties experienced in Eastern homes are very strong indeed: so much so that nursing homes have no users! Because families do not want to abandon their elderly! We have large families ... and so arises Marian devotion, with a positive result of many priestly vocations.
5. Another challenge is peace. There are many problems in the world and particularly in the Middle East: serious political problems - systems and entire governments that fail to restore the continuity and peaceful coexistence; religious fanaticisms – either of some Islamist groups or of some groups of Jewish extremists; there are the Israeli military checkpoints, which prevent the free movement of Arab inhabitants of the Holy Land and of the Arab world for their places of worship and areas where their families live; there are hundreds of thousands of refugees - people who have lost everything: house, car, job, land... their dignity... There is war here and there... and rumors of wars and strikes across Europe. May the compassionate Lord have mercy on us! What to do? I don’t know the definitive answer to all these problems. But I do know that we can pray for peace; every day, especially in the holy Mass and in the recitation of the Rosary. Yes! We can pray for peace and also to work for justice and human dignity. Justice is the natural foundation of peace, indeed. And peace either is just or is not true peace. And if we sacrifice or give up justice and human dignity in order to have safety, we lose both things: peace and security. In the Holy Land there are many walls that separate families, parishes, land; but worse than the concrete walls are the walls raised in the heart of man: the entrenched injustices; racial and religious hatred; ambition and selfishness adopted as law; distrust, brute force and arrogance everywhere… Yes indeed, the walls raised in the heart are invisible, but they are worse than the visible ones. And we must strive for the collapse and overthrow of these walls. And then ... well ... here we must return to prayer, asking Him who “brake down the middle wall of partition, having abolished in the flesh the enmity“ (Eph 2, 14) and the division of men, to give us the grace of breaking down the walls that separate us.
That’s why the message of Fatima, message of conversion and prayer, is particularly effective to promote and open the path of peace in the Holy Land and throughout the Middle East.
6. You know that Pope Francisco, within a few days, will visit the Holy Land. He will travel as a pilgrim of peace and as a guest of the Christian community in Jerusalem. This community wants to live forever as the first Christian community, united in charity, persistent in the sacraments and prayer. The little flock of Christ in the Holy Land - only 2 % of the population - wants to be faithful to Christ. Let us pray for the fruits of the Holy Father’s pilgrimage and imitate his example. Come also you in pilgrimage to the Holy Land, come to strengthen your faith and better understand your roots! I’ll receive you with great pleasure at the Patriarchate, but don’t come all together!
It is my desire too that all bishops of the world, associated with their diocesan conditions and realities, feel co-responsible for communities, for the progress and the pastoral life of the Church in the Holy Land. Christians of the Middle East, these living stones of the Body of Christ, are a common heritage that we must all keep safe and preserve. In this regard, I express my gratitude to all benefactors and, in particular, to the members of the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem. - Today, with you, I feel like a part of a family. We all feel like a family. My wish is that when you come to Jerusalem, your Mother Church, you also feel at home. Unites us our faith and the love of Mary Immaculate. This present day should be an unforgettable day in our lives, a date and period that splits in two our personal history: life before and life after this pilgrimage; life that starts just now, from today onwards. My wish is that you return home younger and happier, full of faith and love for the Lord, for his Mother and his Church.
† Fouad Twal
Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem

Fatima Prayers-Prayers revealed to the Fatima visionaries by an Angel and Our Lady
"O Most Holy Trinity I adore You. My God, my God, I love You in the Most Blessed Sacrament.”
"Most Holy Trinity, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, I adore Thee profoundly. I offer Thee the most precious Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity of Jesus Christ, present in all the Tabernacles of the world, in reparation for the outrages, sacrileges and indifferences whereby He is offended. And through the infinite merits of His most Sacred Heart and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, I beg of Thee the conversion of poor sinners.”
Our Lady gravely said, Sacrifice yourselves for sinners and say often, especially when you make some sacrifice, ‛O my Jesus, this is for love of You, for the conversion of sinners, and in reparation for the offenses committed against the Immaculate Heart of Mary.’ ”
Oh Mary, my Mother, conceived without sin, pray for us, who have recourse to thee.
"Immaculate Heart of Mary, pray for us now and at the hour of our death."
"Continue to pray the Rosary every day."

Message To Mirjana on May 2, 2014
Dear children, I, your mother, am with you for the sake of your well-being, for the sake of your needs and for the sake of your personal cognition. The Heavenly Father gave you the freedom to decide on your own and to become cognizant on your own. I desire to help you. I desire to be a mother to you, a teacher of the truth – so that in the simplicity of an open heart, you may become cognizant of the immeasurable purity and of the light which comes from it and shatters darkness, the light which brings hope.
I, my children, understand your pain and suffering. Who could understand you better than a mother? And you, my children? Small is the number of those who understand and follow me. Great is the number of those who are lost - of those who have not yet become cognizant of the truth in my Son. Therefore, my apostles, pray and act. Bring the light and do not lose hope. I am with you. In a special way I am with your shepherds. With a motherly heart I love and protect them, because they lead you to Heaven that was promised to you by my Son. Thank you.”
The Virgin Mary and miracles in Medjugorje
Miracles happen every day, according to New Albany resident Sandra Bierly. Wonderful miracles of healing and answered prayers, of divine gifts and hope. The former middle school science teacher should know. In her travels to a small town in Bosnia and Herzegovina, she’s experienced such wonders. And those revelations with the Almighty and his messengers have had a profound impact on both Bierly’s faith and life... Continue reading HERE

Medjugorje: Apparition to Mirjana on April 2, 2014
April 2, 2014 Message to Mirjana
Today, April 2, 2014, Our Lady appeared to the visionary Mirjana Soldo at the Blue Cross area in Medjugorje and delivered the following message:
"Dear children, with a motherly love I desire to help you for your life of prayer and penance to be a sincere attempt of drawing closer to my Son and His divine light – that you may know how to separate yourselves from sin. Every prayer, every Mass and every fasting is an attempt of drawing closer to my Son, a reminder of His glory and a refuge from sin – it is a way to a renewed union of the good Father and His children. Therefore, my dear children, with hearts open and full of love, cry out the name of the Heavenly Father that He may illuminate you with the Holy Spirit. Through the Holy Spirit you will become a spring of God's love. All those who do not know my Son, all those thirsting for the love and peace of my Son, will drink from this spring. Thank you. Pray for your shepherds. I pray for them and I desire that they may always feel the blessing of my motherly hands and the support of my motherly heart."

Renowned Pianist Jacqueline Chew former atheist and convert to Catholicism-an inspiring story
This month's edition of the Messenger of St. Anthony has a three page article on the conversion of Jacqueline Chew to Catholicism. It is well worth reading. Jacqueline Chew was born in Oakland, California. She is a distinguished pianist whose music is available at CD Baby and on Amazon. She holds a Bachelor of Music degree from San Francisco Conservatory of Music and a Master of Music degree from State University of New York-Binghamton. She performed, toured and recorded with the Women's Philharmonic (located in San Francisco) from 1990-2004. She has performed at concerts and music festivals both in the US and overseas. She currently teaches piano at at the University of California-Berkeley, San Francisco Conservatory of Music and San Francisco Community Music Center. She was raised in the Presbyterian faith.
At college she lost her faith and became an atheist. However God works in mysterious ways. As an atheist she heard for the first time the music of Olivier Messiaen a devout Catholic. The music was from Vingt Regards sur l'Enfant-Jesus (Twenty Contemplations of the Infant Jesus). This led her to the Story of a Soul, The Autobiography of St. Therese of Lisieux. The music of Vingt Regards led her to God and ultimately to the Roman Catholic Church. She eventually met Olivier Messiaen and his spiritual influence was pivotal in her decision to convert. She was also strongly influenced by the writings of the American Trappist monk Thomas Merton. She has become an oblate of New Camaldoli Hermitage in the Santa Lucia Mountains of Big Sur, California. Being an Oblate allows her to remain associated with the Camaldolese Benedictine community but at the same time to live and work in the world as a professional musician teaching and performing concerts. This blog post barely scratches the surface of the article.

Sister Lucia of Fatima-Read this wonderful article on her life
Sister Lucia of Fatima died on 13 February 2005, on the same day of the 1917 Fatima apparitions, which occurred for six months always on the same day; and on the same day of the May 1981 attempt to assassinate John Paul II.
by Renzo Allegri
NUMBER 13 was no ordinary number in the life of Sister Lucia dos Santos, one of the most enigmatic women in the 20th century. Her name first made the headlines in 1917 when, at the age of 10, she was one of the three shepherds to receive visions of the Blessed Virgin. From that moment she has become one of the Church's most mysterious figures, and a focus of world-wide interest right up to her death on 13 February 2005, aged 97. This is the same day of month in which she first saw Our Lady and received her messages. These apparitions continued for six months, from May to October. But 13 May is also the day on which Ali Agca attempted to assassinate Pope John Paul II in Saint Peters' Square in 1981... Continue reading at Messenger of Saint Anthony

Our Lady's Message to Mirjana
"Dear children; I am coming to you as a mother and I desire that in me, as in a mother, you may find your abode, consolation and rest. Therefore, my children, apostles of my love, pray. Pray with humble devotion, obedience and complete trust in the Heavenly Father. Trust as I have trusted when it was said to me that I will bring the blessing of the promise. May out of your hearts, from your lips, always come forth "May your will be done!" Therefore, trust and pray so that I can intercede for you before the Lord, for him to give you the Heavenly Blessing and fill you with the Holy Spirit. Then he will be able to help all those who do not know the Lord -- you, apostles of my love, will help them to call him "Father" with complete trust. Pray for your shepherds and place your trust in their blessed hands. Thank you. "

Religous Song/Poem: Lady (Annunciation) by Sally Read
Sally Read is an English poet who was born in Suffolk in 1971. She is a former atheist who converted to Catholicism. In 2010 she experienced a powerful conversion to Christ. As an atheist she had bitterly opposed the Catholic Church's stance on abortion and contraception. She engaged in debate with Byzantine priest Fr Gregory Hrynkiw and underwent an intellectual epiphany. By the time she had converted to Catholicism in December 2010 she had already written and published a few poems about Mary, Mother of God-- specifically two that sought to debunk the biblical account of the Annunciation. Sally Read gives some background information on the Song Lady in her blog The Far-Near. This was penned after her conversion.
Lady received its premiere on 16th June 2013 at 11:30am Mass at the Pro-Cathedral, Dublin by the Palestrina Choir. The February 2014 edition of The Messenger of St Anthony has a very moving article on the conversion of Sally Read.
Lady
Lady, still as a harp-string
ready for the finger’s touch.
Woman, stepping inside to eye-bruising dark
with a jug of water.
Only your lush ear could catch
the angel’s words,
and only you could make them flesh.
What stillness. In stillness
beyond tissue of thought
He formed. Lady, closest to God,
pray that we make the ground inside us
rich enough for this formation,
that we always wear the anatomy of His death.
Lady, still as a well, turning hurt and consolation,
show us how to listen in our emptiness.

February 02, 2014- Message from Our Lady to Mirjana
"Dear children, with motherly love I desire to teach you sincerity, because I desire that, in your actions as my apostles, you be exact, resolute, and above all sincere. I desire that, by the grace of God, you be open for a blessing. I desire that by fasting and prayer you obtain from the Heavenly Father the cognition of what is natural and holy – Divine. Filled with cognition, under the shelter of my Son and myself, you will be my apostles who will know how to spread the Word of God to all those who do not know of it; and you will know how to overcome obstacles that will stand in your way.
My children, by means of a blessing, God's grace will descend upon you and you will be able to retain it through fasting, prayer, purification and reconciliation. You will have the efficiency which I seek of you. Pray for your shepherds that the ray of God's grace may illuminate their ways. Thank you."

Mother Mary Comes To Me: Words of Wisdom from Medjugorje - Paperback by Dennis Muth
How did the writing of the inspirational story, Mother Mary Comes To Me, Words of Wisdom from Medjugorje, come about? Find out here in this brief video.
Through the inspiration of the Beatles on a summer backpacking trip across Europe, a spiritually void twenty-four year old finds himself in Liverpool, only to be redirected to Medjugorje, a tiny village in the communist country of Bosnia-Hercegovina, where the Blessed Virgin Mary came to him on a mountain top and changed his life forever. After deciding to live for God, a spiritual renewal took place which brought this young adult back to the Catholic roots of his youth... Continue reading at Amazon

How Catholics Can Save Our Dying Civilization-Crisis Magazine
In a recent address, Archbishop Chaput articulated how much we depend on the residual religious capital of earlier times, but once the capital is spent, “we may not like the results, because the more we delete God from our public life and our private behavior, the more we remove the moral vocabulary that gives our culture meaning.”
In spelling out this precipitous divestment, the Archbishop identifies four feedback loops both caused by and contributing to the depletion of religious capital. First, we’re unable to think clearly, a capacity which our obsession with marketing and emotional-laden images hinders. Second, we’re unable to remember, constantly re-inventing ourselves but with a weak grasp of the abiding things. Third, trapped in our technological and scientific loves, we’re unable to lift our eyes and imagine and hope for the fully-human. Fourth, we’re increasingly unable to distinguish genuine freedom from mere indulgence or license... Continue reading at Crisis Magazine

As We Live, So We Die-Article by Kathleen Beckman on consequences of yielding to demonic influences
My dearest friend shared the following story with me as I was writing my book, Rekindle Eucharistic Amazement. We placed the story in the book to help people know the consequences of yielding to demonic influences.
A hospice patient whom we will call “Robert” was a high ranking member of a demonic cultic order. His order's cloak hung neatly in his closet and we were instructed that he was to be buried in that cloak. Robert was unconscious lying in his bed when I arrived for my shift. He appeared comfortable except he was experiencing some difficulty breathing. Suddenly, I began to sense the tangible presence of demonic spirits in the room. The hair on the back of my neck stood up and a cloud of oppression overcame me. I have been in the ministry of intercession and spiritual warfare for many years. This was the most intense presence of evil that I had ever experienced. The battle for Robert's soul had begun. CONTINUE reading HERE
