The puppet Dustin the Turkey has been chosen to represent Ireland in the first Semi-Final of the Eurovision Song Contest in Belgrade on Tuesday 20th of May.
The initial decision by RTE to nominate Dustin as one of six finalists for Irish Eurosong 2008 was certainly bird brained to say the least.
The voting public –by its decision-has given the Eurovision Song Contest the bird. It leaves a “fowl” taste and is feather-brained.
Hopefully Dustin will have some table manners.

US Embassy Attacked After Kosovo Independence
Kosovo's unilateral declaration of independence and its recognition by some major world powers such as the US and the UK was the signal for a Serbian mob to attack and torch the US Embassy in Belgrade. This attack has damaged Serbian credibility in the west.
"Our embassy was attacked by thugs," White House press secretary Dana Perino told reporters aboard Air Force One as President Bush and Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice returned from a trip to Africa. "We have made known to the Serbian government our concern and displeasure that their police force did not prevent this incident."-AP
The Serbian leadership has promised that there will be no repetition of such incidents.
