Why the Ahmadinejad Regime is doomed

These thugs -in this video- are so-called police engaging in wanton acts of vandalism. The Ahmadinejad regime is out of control and at war with its people. Peaceful protesters have been gunned down. Young women have been murdered. Universities have been ransacked and students arrested. Neighbourhoods have been targeted by the so -called forces of law and order on the basis that protesters may be in residence. Many journalists and bloggers are missing. The prisons are torture chambers. 100,000 men from the paramilitary Basij control Tehran and eight other major cities. Ahmadinejad is also reliant on Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. There is some evidence that not all members of the Basij and Islamic Revolutionary Guard are loyal to the regime.

60% of Iranians are under 35. The majority of this age group seeks democratic change and will eventually bring down the regime. Many in this age group are computer literate and well educated. Women who are second class citizens in Iran are no longer prepared to tolerate repression. In 2006 Iran's Supreme Leader declared that women are not allowed to watch men's soccer games in person. The Campaign for Equality, an Iranian women’s rights initiative was launched in 2006. Members have been harassed and in some cases imprisoned. Women have been empowered by education and have played a major role in the protests. They will not tolerate inequality. The power structure of the regime has begun to rot from within and without. It lacks democratic legitimacy having stolen the election. It is living on borrowed time.

In this video Dick Morris argues cogently that Barack Obama is severing a 60 year U.S. policy of support for Israel even as the mortal threat of Iranian nuclear weapons looms and concludes that Hillary Clinton is helping to implement his Arabist policies. He claims that we may be about to see the death of the state of Israel-destroyed by Iranian nuclear weapons. He lambasts the policy of the Obama administration which has made clear that it will not support Israel in the event of a pre emptive strike against Iranian nuclear facilities. He attacks the two state solution which he claims will give the Palestinians another base with which to attack Israel.

He argues that one Iranian nuclear strike would wipe out state of Israel and that we may be about to see another holocaust. He believes that Netanyahu may launch an attack on Iranian nuclear facilities-to forestall an Iranian nuclear strike- and that this may trigger another Middle East war. He forecasts that Obama will not support Israel in such a war.

Ireland: Libertas leader Declan Ganley must come clean on his desire to abolish the CAP

On March 11, 2003 Declan Ganley wrote an article for the American Foreign Policy Institute- titled ‘Europe’s direction? A Voice from Ireland’ - in which he attacked the CAP.

• He argued for the dismantling of the CAP and for zero dependence on farm subsidies.
• He declared that "our very own European Common Agricultural Policy because of its trade barriers and subsidization, will result in thousands of deaths around the world".
• He insisted that CAP structures were highly inefficient.
• He argued for the removal of all of Europe's trade barriers and for unfettered free trade.
• He propounded the view that the EU's decision to spend nearly half its budget on the CAP was "mindless".

Ganley's approach would decimate agriculture not alone in rural Ireland but also in Southern Germany and large areas of France, Scotland, Wales and Sweden. He is arguing for an extreme neo liberal approach which would benefit huge ranchers in the US and Brazil.
Mr Ganley is no friend of Irish agriculture.

Russia working on technology to target satellites in space

A Russian deputy defense minister, General Valentin Popovkin, said while Russia opposes a space arms race, it would not let steps by other countries toward space militarization go unanswered, Russian news agencies reported. "We can't sit back and quietly watch others doing that; such work is being conducted in Russia," said Gen. Popovkin.

Popovkin, who previously served as the chief of Russian military Space Forces, claimed that Russian technicians had already developed some "basic, key elements" of such weapons but did not elaborate on details. His remarks came in response to a question about US and Chinese tests of anti-satellite weapons. In February 2008, the US struck a dying satellite with missiles launched from a Navy cruiser. Earlier in 2007, a Chinese missile destroyed one of its own aging satellites. Yellowstone Super Volcano Eruption could destroy mankind

Yellowstone National Park holds one of the world's largest super-volcanoes. Scientific research has shown that the ground is 74cm higher than it was in 1923. The reservoir is filling rapidly with magma.The upward movement of the Yellowstone caldera floor has been 7 centimeters per year for the past three years. This supervolcano has regular eruption cycles of 600,000 years. The last eruption was 640,000 years ago. So the human race is living on borrowed time. The Yellowstone Volcano could erupt with 10,000 times the force of the explosion at Mount St. Helens in 1980.

Daily Express that magma would be flung 50 kilometers into
the atmosphere. Within a thousand kilometers virtually all life

pour out of the volcano, enough to coat the whole USA with a layer

Yellowstone supervolcano would blast so much ash and sulphur dioxide into the stratosphere that it would blot out the sun, causing a catastrophic drop in the Earth's temperatures. This would not just be confined to North America . Its effects would be felt in Europe. Crop growing would become impossible. Many would die from starvation as key world breadbaskets such as the Prairies of North America , the Steppes of Russia, East Anglia and the Paris Basin could no longer grow grain crops. Similarly grass growth would cease. World economies would be devastated. The Earths population would be decimated. Scientists and geologists who monitor the volcano see no major threat of a catastrophic eruption in the immediate future. Hopefully they are correct.
