Big Spender Obama's Promises would cost $293 Billion Extra in annual federal spending-National Taxpayers Union Federation (NTUF)
NTUF's fourth and final round of assigning price tags to the candidates' platforms since January 29 found that Sen. McCain (R-AZ) would increase yearly federal spending by $92.4 billion, compared to Sen. Obama's (D-IL) $293.0 billion......................
......Though it appears that Obama's platform cost has dropped since NTUF's last update on June 3 ($343.6 billion), excluding a previously unavailable savings estimate for reducing troop levels in Iraq ($90.5 billion annually), Obama would actually boost annual federal outlays by $383.4 billion - a 12 percent jump from June, Brady noted. Obama's annual spending platform has increased by about 34 percent since January 29 (when it was $287.0 billion).

The American taxpayer cannot sustain the spending plans of Barack Obama. Obama cannot fund any middle class tax cuts.

Obama will cost you
This image summarises Obama's economic policy. His plans to double the tax on invested capital and to push up the top tax bracket to an effective 60%, will cripple the economy. His proposal to raise capital gains tax to 28% could trigger a stock market crash and will hit middle income earners very hard. He intends to increase spending by €1000 billion over four years. This is voodoo economics.
His policies of higher taxation and redistribution of wealth are akin to those of the French Communist Party. They are certainly to the left even of most European Socialist Parties. They are a recipe for economic stagnation and increased poverty. So deeply embedded are such policies in European countries such as France and Germany that conservative governments when elected to power can only tinker at the edges. To introduce the radical reform necessary is to court political destruction.
Will the American voters learn from the mistakes of their European friends?

Obama the Big Spender makes Pricey Promises -So says the National Taxpayers Union (NTU)
- Presidential Candidate
- John McCain
- Barack Obama
- Congressional Spending
- $8.8 billion
- $40.5 billion
- Proposed Spending
- $6.9 billion
- $307.2 billion
* NTU Congressional Rating
- John McCain
- 88% (A)
- Barack Obama
- 5% (Fail)
*The Washington DC- based National Taxpayers Union, a non profit making group which aims to protect private wallets from the government's claws rated both candidates based on his willingness to spend the taxpayers priceless dollars. Here Obama scores just 5% indicating an irresponsible approach to spending. An Obama Presidency will be characterised by rocketing taxation.
John McCain scores an excellent 88% indicating that he is a prudent spender. The natural corollary of this is that a McCain Presidency will be characterised by low taxation.
