How Conor Cusack overcame severe depression-a must read for anybody suffering from depression

Conor Cusack suffered from a very severe form of depression and came within minutes of committing suicide. In a blog post he describes the hell which he went through and charts the road to recovery. This is a salutary lesson for anybody suffering from depression and contemplating suicide. SUICIDE IS NEVER AN ANSWER.

I still remember the moment well. It was a wet, cold, grey Friday morning. I rose out of bed having had no sleep the night before. Panic attacks are horrific experiences by day, by night they are even worse. As I drove to work on my trusted Honda 50, a group of my friends passed in their car heading to college. They all smiled and waved and looked so happy.

I smiled and waved and acted happy. I had loved and excelled in school but it was the same with my hurling, it was the same with my friends, it was the same with my family, it was the same with the people of Cloyne, it was the same with life, I had lost interest in all of them. Losing interest in people was the worst. Where once I would have felt sadness at seeing my friends heading to where I had always wanted to go, I now didn’t. Apparition to Mirjana at Medjugorje on September 2, 2013

September 2, 2013 Message to Mirjana

"Dear children, I love you all. All of you, all of my children, all of you are in my heart. All of you have my motherly love and I desire to lead all of you to come to know God's joy. This is why I am calling you. I need humble apostles who, with an open heart, will accept the Word of God and help others to comprehend the meaning of their life along side God's word. To be able to do this, my children, through prayer and fasting you must learn to listen with the heart and to learn to keep submitting yourselves. You must learn to keep rejecting everything that distances you from God's word and to yearn only for that which draws you closer to it. Do not be afraid. I am here. You are not alone. I am imploring the Holy Spirit to renew and strengthen you. I am imploring the Holy Spirit that, as you help others, you too may be healed. I am imploring Him that, through Him, you may be God's children and my apostles. For the sake of Jesus, for the sake of my Son, love those whom He has called and long for the blessing only from the hands which He has consecrated. Do not permit evil to come to reign. Anew I repeat -- only along side your shepherds will my heart triumph. Do not permit evil to separate you from your shepherds. Thank you. "

Shining Statue of Virgin Mary in Medjugorje to be examined by Vatican

An official Vatican has got involved in the case of a shining statue of Virgin Mary in the tiny Bosnia and Herzegovina's pilgrimage place of Medjugorje. The statue last month allegedly started suddenly to spread light in the house of Vicka Ivankovic, one of six seers that live in the pilgrimage spot of Medjugorje, located in western Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Now the statue has been moved into the parish priest's house waiting for experts from the Vatican to come and examine the statue. The Vatican obviously wants to calm down the situation and to check whether some allegations in local media were true that someone could simply pour special colour on the statue that lights in the dark...(Continue reading at Croatian Times)
